Editing and cinematography were good actually

They did some really cool camera work and editing for this. There was also some good situational humor. Not good but not terrible. 4/10 is just below average.

It just wasn't very good.

While the concept has been done before, there was reason to hope going into this movie. A movie that promises to stretch out the opening scene of Scream to feature length could be done well, given the right care and feeding (so to speak). After all, Ready or Not was a great movie, but at its core, it was just a new take on The Most Dangerous Game.

Alas, it was not to be.

Shook made me sad.

While there are some nice twists and turns as the plot unfolds, Shook is woefully underwritten. At no point do we feel anything resembling empathy for our main character, her friends are nothing more than by-the-numbers stereotypes, and the pacing is off. I don't know if the director was trying to do a slow burn in some scenes, but if so, she didn't execute well at all.

And to add a little insult to the viewer's injury, there are continuity issues all over the place, the most egregious happening in the opening minutes of the film.

I give it a 4/10 because there's a good movie hiding in here. As I said, there are some nice, effective twists and turns. But underdeveloped characters and bad pacing doom this one to the bargain bin, if those still exist.

Ok worth a watch

Interesting movie with an ever so common theme that being online is pointless ever if that's where you make your living from..

Bit boring with the majority of the film being one girl in a house.

The main actress has the personality of a handbag

I rarely switch off a horror/slasher but this was next level terrible. The main actress has about as much charisma as some old cheese in the back of the fridge and seems to spend most of her time pouting and blinking at the camera. The plot is dull and non-existent. Dull, dull, dull.

Kellan: That's not an option. But how about this? I'll meet you halfway. 'Yes, Kellan, tell me more'. Okay well since you asked, we both know you have a big choice coming up, but what if there was a way for you to not have to make that choice? Might that be appealing to you?
Mia: Yes.
Kellan: That's what I thought.
Mia: So?
Kellan: So all you have to do is answer three questions. That's it. If you get them right, then I'll stop this whole thing and let everybody go. But if you get one wrong, then you have to make a choice between Nicole and Santi.
Mia: Okay.
Kellan: Here we go. First question: When administering CPR, maintaining proper rhythm is crucial. What song is recommended for achieving the correct tempo?
Mia: Huh?
Kellan: You have one minute.
Mia: No wait! What? Can you repeat that?
Kellan: 57, 56, 55...
Mia: [can't get the internet on her phone] Dammit!
[runs to the laptop, gets a video message of Santi with a bag over his head begging for help]
Kellan: CPR might come in handy.
Mia: Asshole!
[searching]
Mia: I don't know, I don't know, I don't know any song!
Kellan: Here you are cheating and complaining about it, tsk tsk.
Mia: You didn't say I couldn't.
Kellan: 16, 15, 14... 10 Mississippi, 9 Mississippi.
Mia: Stayin' Alive! Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees!
Kellan: Ding ding ding ding ding. Get that girl a toaster.
Mia: Is Santi okay?
Kellan: For now. Next question. At what temperature is someone considered to have a fever? No, no interwebs. 59, 58, 57-
[Mia rummages through her mother's medical equipment and printouts]
Kellan: 5, 4, 3...
Mia: 100.4! Hello? Was I right?
Kellan: Yes, that is correct.
Mia: Is Jade okay?
Kellan: So far.
Mia: Okay, what now?
Kellan: Oh, now you're into it now that you're winning.
Mia: Come on, let's finish this.
Kellan: Okay, final question: What were... your mother's last words?
Mia: How would you know what my mother's last words were?
Kellan: 59, 58, 57...
Mia: Why are you asking about my mother?
Kellan: Why not?
Mia: What does she have to do with this?
Kellan: I liked your mom.
Mia: I don't remember her ever speaking about you.
Kellan: Well she didn't speak much about you either.
Mia: Go to hell!
Kellan: She probably forgot you even existed. I mean how often did you come by to visit when she was getting sick? I mean when she was *really* sick. And I don't mean how often you promised to visit, because that's obviously a very different. answer.
