I had absolutely no expectations going into Benefits, but it turned out to be a fun and humorous glimpse into a moment in a man's life. Adeel is a guy living in a dystopian future where he's required to constantly apply for jobs and argue with a malfunctioning machine and a panel of awkward citizens-just to receive his benefits check. The catch? Even that isn't free.
The story and its unexpected twists had me laughing more than once, as nothing goes by the book and Adeel's future is absurd in the best way. Despite being only three minutes long, the film manages to deliver a clever plot twist at the end, neatly closing the loop. Benefits is a fun little treat worth watching.
