This movie is not that bad as other reviewers make it seem. Sure it has some faults from having unnecessary long scenes and background music. The movie could have been cut short by 20 minutes. Also, the story was cliche and a bit weak. It's unmatchable to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's work so don't go in with such expectations. What kept me hooked was everyone's acting as well as the sets, costumes, and cinematography. The songs were good too. The climax was surprising with a lot of emotions. Alia was superb and Varun did a pretty damn good job. Aditya and Sonakshi stood out too. I appreciated Sanjay Dutt for his efforts as well. But most importantly, Madhuri was just breathtaking! People are not giving credit to where it's due and are bashing the entire movie. It's not that bad!

I haven't found any story in this movie. I don't know what actually the director wanted to tell the audience.. Otherwise the songs, acting of each role, some close shots are very nice... All the characters played their roles quite beautifully.. specially Alia Bhatt.. she was brilliant throughout the movie... I am giving it 6 out off 10..

I like this romantic,heart- touching story.... It wonders all the love to make one a great humanity person..really it is full of realistic.

Very good movie ..different story then usual love stories nowadays... Excellent performance by all actors. I reccomend everyone to go and watch it then give verdict. well done all cast and crew.!!

This film should and could have been a lot better with some more rewrites but a lot of the film works. The dialogue is extremely over the top to the point where every sentence uttered by a character is a metaphor at times. Although I feel some lines do come together at the end successfuly. The songs are fantastic. It looks and sounds brilliant. 10/10 in that regard. It's just the story doesn't really hook you until near the end. I feel the acting was quite good overall but the standouts were definitely Varun Dhawan and Madhuri. It ends on a good note which makes the whole experience worth it for me. I wish more effort was put into the story though.
