फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
Film shooting was in southern Alaska, probably in April, not December, as represented.
Snowflakes in the film are large and wet. Thats's warm weather snow. Drastic cold, which is supposedly threatening, lack fluid and is powdery.
No one is properly dressed for the hyper cold, being outside at -40, unprotected, freezes skin, yet these jerks are without gloves and face coverings, etc. As if it was 40 above.
Hey! This is life and death stuff! Hero! Heroine! Mother! Father! Boyfriend! Girlfriend, a coming of age film. A saving the world film.
The writers didn't know what the movie was supposed to be, so they punted...all the way. They should have their pen and paper revoked, permanently.
The writers and actors must have thought it was better to get face time on camera, rather than a sense of reality, on the most basic level of moviemaking.
The father, never having flown a helicopter, pilots through weather so rough, that even a professional pilot would struggle with. At 40 below, one has face covering, gloves, mittens, mukluks, parkas.
Amateurish & unbelievable on every level. Imagine having your tombstone carved with "cast member in "Cold Zone," for the world to see!

.... and that it is what it's like going through when watching this.
I know we are currently suffering extremes of weather, which the producers of this film are exploiting, but this is a bit over the top, the "special effects" are not so special, they keep repeating a satellite image of a white cloud with a hole in it, exactly the same - no movement, repeating it several times throughout the film, one scene involves the main hero burying himself in a snow hole to survive being frozen, with a candle which burns the oxygen in the hole uo, so either he should have frozen to death or died of lack of oxygen, but he was not even that cold when he came out.
The acting is poor, the dialogue terrible, the emotional scenes look put on, which of course they are (real actors make the emotional scenes look real), continuity is not good, scenes where there are frozen people show the area frost free, it would take a while to defrost! And despite recently been frozen, the roads have wet puddles, not ice!
The music is poor, and sound effects are annoying.
I am looking for the good points, maybe the story is good, but the screenplay has ruined it.
Poor, interesting, but poor. Like a disaster movie from the 70's but without star actors.

I wish there was a zero. This has to be the worst film I have ever watched. The packaging looks good enough to buy. Ops...I did. The plot was written buy a 3 year old and the best bit of acting was the dead blackbird. In the end I watched it just to pick faults of which there are many. Please don't be fooled by the first 3 minutes, it goes down hill quicker than the Titanic.
Not much to say about this one, Family holiday gets ruined by mini ice age caused by manmade global warming that was predicted by scientist who has a petty party and hides in the woods. We have the standard family with an annoying teenager with Daddy issues that you get in most family holiday / disaster movies, you know the one, who you hope gets chopped quickly. The plot is so close to day after tomorrow that I'm surprised the makers haven't been in court yet. All good predictable end of the world stuff, improved by the use of locations with real snow, and some not too bad CGI. Shame they couldn't find an original script though.
Well I watched the whole thing which is quite surprising because it was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I'd had all of an hour sleep the night before. I thought I'd fall asleep pretty quick which is what usually happens when I watch a movie with the intention of actually watching it while I'm tired but nope, I think this moving was so ordinary it kept me awake. The acting was poor at best, and the cold zone sure did spread south rather quickly. But at least the young bloke got a quick kiss from the girl he saved before they took off and saved them selves. I can't see a sequel coming for this one unless people want to see a refuelling episode.
