Walking the Dog

Still watching, don't want it to end. Beaches, dogs, smart attractive people. Fun movie.

This is absolutely one of my favorite Hallmark movies. I wish they would play it on the Hallmark Channel more, but I don't think I've seen it in a couple of years; thankfully, Hallmark movies now have it, and I can watch it whenever I want. The two dogs, Gidget and Simon, are so sweet and cute. Christy and Keith, the main leads, have incredible chemistry, and I enjoy their banter. I also enjoy all the other characters within the story. Her mom, the secret admirer, her friend and assistant, and of course, the boyfriend and then ex-boyfriend veterinarian. I always get a kick out of the scene when Christy runs into her ex Jeff at the dance.

I could watch this movie daily.

I was not quite sure what to expect with this one, considering it's about dogs, and usually when pets are the showcase of a movie, the romance and the rest of the story tends to be neglected. But I was pleasantly surprised by the well-rounded romance and so many endearing characters.

This film will surprise you and I highly recommend it. The two dogs are so lovable and cute. The leading female is somewhat of an acquired taste, but she grows on you after a while. The lead male is a Hallmark staple, not as much these days, but he was a regular in 2017 when this was released.

The storyline has been done 100 times but the characters are really interesting people. Everyone is so likable, this movie is good just for the personalities alone. Add some tension and a little bit of court room drama, and even more drama between the leads, and you've got yourself an almost great film. This is a dark horse for me and an unexpected treat.

This is an amusing film with excellent acting and a fun script. There are loads of familiar faces, gentle humour and funny situations. Definitely a rainy day winner and recommended highly. One caveat - some bits are a bit tiresome in the romantic comedy genre but the actors make it very amusing nevertheless. Enjoy!
