Wow. I had low expectations for Horse Dancer, but this movie was much worse than I had expected.

This film is like a cross between Hallmark TV Movies and Plan 9 from Outer Space.

The acting in this movie was not at the level of most high school productions. Richard Karn (of Tool Time) and Rachel Sowers (who plays Lisa in this movie) can act but the rest of the cast is awful. From the credits it seems like the director simply recruited children in his church to be in the movie.

The plot and action have many unrealistic elements to it - in particular a lengthy 'police search and rescue' scene that had my wife and I howling with laughter.

In the first few minutes, the main character receives a letter -at her gym (huh?) - notifying her as to whether or not she made the US Olympic team. (Isn't that usually announced at the trials?) She doesn't open the letter, takes it home and tells her Mom she received the letter. Her Mom advises her to discuss the letter with Grandma and then leaves to go to work. (I mean, if the characters don't care about this life-changing letter then why should we?)

At the climax of the movie, the stunt double has a body type that is so completely different than the actress she subs for, that it destroys the scene.

There are scenes where kids sing campfire songs -without any point and without furthering the action. Just... campfire songs. Really compelling stuff, Not.

And on and on. One of the worst movies of the century.

We had some hope of a fun movie about girls and their horses. Nope.

• Horrible acting except by a couple of anchor actors.

• Some of the worst music I have heard. What is with the babyish songs continually?

• Trite writing. I would bet there are some sincere and wonderful stories that have come out of this barn in real life.

• decent gymnastics but what was the deal with the coaches? Real coaches acting normally would be fine.

• decent riding nice ranch

This was basically painful to watch. Makes me sad too because I bet this is a good horse camp in real life.

My daughter isn't too picky about horse movies but this was truly a 1 out of 10.

This is the single worst movie I think I've ever seen in my entire life. There are zero, I repeat, zero redeeming qualities. Bad acting, poor writing, shameful directing... save yourself some brain cells and don't watch it. You're welcome.

Immediately when I started watching this movie I got a feeling about actors not being professionals. This feeling continued until the end of the movie. Very poor performance of the actors. By changing the actors, it could have been good movie, not difficult for watching. It is typical American plot where everything ends up well.

I really liked the character Lisa Gold. She was always upbeat and keep things positive. The scenery was great and it looks like a lovely place to get away. But that's where it stops.

The director was terrible, I think if they had a better one and a better writer too. The movie would have been so much more.

The other actresses were only kids/teens/young adults. So I'm sure they didn't have much practice in acting, but it was kind of forced. d

Started out hopeful that this would be a nice evening feelgood movie but it was just lots of shouting and noise.. Fast forwarded but didn't still no good.

I love gymnastic movies but this one did not transition very well. It goes from a gymnast to a horse vaulter and Miss Jessica lowkey drove me nuts. Camps are one thing but when you have counselors who are high strung it ruins everything. It brings the maturity level down tremendously.

This movie is about a girl who is very disciplined and a high achiever, but lacks social skills, because she is too busy to make friends. I enjoyed this movie.

I count this as a great movie. The characters grow and change. There is a kind and compassionate humanity throughout that is missing these days. Though it's set in the cell phone age, it beckons back to the decades gone by when girls and boys went to summer camp; they were plopped down in a set-apart place. And there the kids experienced the discipline of camp rules, schedules, and expectations. The songs are authentic. I am so sad to see the way law enforcement, courts, families, schools, etc., have become soulless. Every institution has grown cold. We hear "process" and nothing about cultivating the person and considering his unique situation. It's sad that in "real life" people are routinely disrespected and treated without any reference to the context of their lives. So this was a nice escape from our present sad reality.
