The author of Paddington, Michael Bond, appears as a stamp
The director of the two previous films, Paul King, has decided not to direct this installment, but he pitched the idea for this third film and was involved as an executive producer.
In Paddington's attic is a picture of him and Queen Elizabeth II from when he met her in Queen Elizabeth and Paddington Bear Film (2022), originally shown as part of her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Rachel Zegler was initially set to play Gina Cabot in the film, but had to leave the project due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. She was replaced with newcomer Carla Tous.
Although the film is titled Paddington in Peru, only the scenes in Cuzco and Machu Picchu were filmed there. Most of the tropical landscapes were shot in Colombia, where the Colombian Film Commission provides tax incentives, film services, and access to local talent and crew. Consequently, 80% of the filming outside England occurred in Colombia, with just 20% shot in Peru. The production also used Black Park in Buckinghamshire, near Pinewood Studios, and Berrybush Farm to recreate the bears' home. These choices sparked controversy within Peru's film industry and among fans of the previous Andes movies.
