Starts off like your typical teen movie, mum catches blonde daughter with boyfriend in car, so grounds her, guess what happens next?
Doesn't take a scientist to work it out. That's right, she sneaks out.
Boyfriend on a boat they both go for a swim, he gets killed by the shark.
Teen hunk saves her, he somehow has to be famous 🙄 When the blonde girl is in hospital with her friend who has brown hair, everyone seems to ignore the brown haired girl and only have eyes for the blinds girl.
Come on, who wrote this tripe.
Okay the film from there just drags on and on, say by to the shark though.
I watched this as I wanted to watch a shark movie, this is not, so be warned. The cover is a lie to get you to watch it.
It's like the film makers went to a local high school and got all the pretty kids to act in some two bit movie.
Any star rating over two is a lie.

The daughter treats her mother horribly. She's rude, obnoxious, creepy and out of control, and he boyfriend is just as obnoxious and creepy as she is. Note that all the "men" in this movie are smaller and more feminine looking than the females who tower over them. The stalker is a goofy, ever-smiling, one-dimensional cardboard cutout. The token black guy friend of the blonde girl is always jumping out from behind and grabbing her to scare her. Who would want a friend like this? He's frightening looking enough without doing this. The dialogue, along with the boring characters is putting me to sleep. I'm about halfway through and seriously considering turning this off or maybe just leave it on as background noise.
This has got to be the lamest movie I ever viewed, and there were so many gaping plot holes, that it resembled swiss Cheese extra holey. Add the typical cliches into the fruit salad and there you have a candidate for worst film of the year.
Let's see, we had the typical high school girl/teenager who disobeys her mother, rude and disrespectful to her mother and gets herself into a jam as the consequences. This is followed by the mother who doesn't listen to the daughter when she expresses fear about a strange dud stalking her. But the writers threw a curve ball with a mother giving away keys to the house to s perfect stranger. Followed by improbably events that are so forced and fake that eye rolling comes with them. Add in a healthy portion of oops and dumb decisions to the mix of lame writers block nonsense to pad the run time.
All in all, it was a waste of my time, and hopefully you have read this review and don't waste yours.

Anyone else wonder why a senior in high school is drinking alcohol at a party with all adults present?? If more thoughts were put into it it might be a ok movie but nobody thinks these things they before making a movie.
Of course I had never heard about the 2017 TV movie thriller titled "Stalker's Prey" prior to sitting down to watch it here in 2024. And with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I found the time to give the movie a fair chance.
Writer John Doolan put together a rather generic and bland script. It was as if the writer just went by the How-To-Write-A-Thriller-For-Dummies book and crammed in every generic thriller trope he could find. I mean, the whole build up of the events were somewhat laughable. But hey, there are worse movies out there.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. And that was actually one of the better things about "Stalker's Prey", as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen in movies. And I will say that the acting performances in the movie were fair, despite the fact that the actors and actresses had some very generic material to work with.
There are far better thrillers out there, no doubt about it. But I will say that director Colin Theys's 2017 TV movie "Stalker's Prey" might be worth checking out if you are a sucker for thrillers where the story revolves around a deranged person acting out of ill-conceived affection and obsession.
While I did manage to sit through the entire movie, I was only mildly entertained. And I can honestly say that I am not returning to watch the movie a second time.
My rating of "Stalker's Prey" lands on a four out of ten stars.
