So much more than what I was expecting. If you saw the trailer to this movie, not only does it barely scrape the surface of what's going on but it's a little misleading to what the film is really about. It's not the best movie in the world, as it's a little too obviously being used as a vehicle for Paula Patton (who also produced it) to show how well she can do in the driver's seat as a leading lady, but the overall direction it's heading down was very satisfying to see.

I was so excited to see this movie but was let down by the horrible acting of the lead actress and the sub par plot. It really could have been a hit but it just didn't hit the mark!!

This movie is based on a real case happened in North Cal, which is where I'm currently living. I used to think this kind of criminal - human traffic - would only take place in the area where it's far and less developed. However, this movie made me realize the hidden danger. I became more cautious like double check the front and back door lock every night before going to bed. I also began to avoid going to places in the middle of no where by myself (which I did a lot before).

I think all girls should have this sense in their mind, that the world is not as safe as we though. It's really important to learn to protect ourselves.

Therefore, regardless how good/bad the movie is ( i think it's pretty good), I give it a 10/10 star and recommend every girl to watch it for the lesson it taught us and the public awareness it raises.

Traffik was one of those random Netflix bedtime movies that I went into with no expectations nor quite frankly any knowledge of. They usually end badly, this didn't.

Starring Paula "Warcraft" Patton, Omar Epps, Roselyn "Boat Trip" Sanchez and Luke "Bros" Goss this nifty little thriller doesn't exactly break any new ground but is perfectly watchable stuff.

It tells the story of a couple who go for a weekend away in a luxury secluded cabin. They find themselves targets of a local biker gang who seem to think the couple of a very valuable phone full of incriminating information.

Again this isn't exactly original stuff but it's well made and that counts for a lot. Patton was excellent here and further demonstrating that she's a criminally underrated actress in Hollywood, while the rest of the cast are generally passable.

One of my favorite actors William Fichtner is also on the roster but in a disappointingly small role, certainly don't watch this exclusively for him or you'll be sorely let down by his lack of presence.

Full of modern "Cool" music I found that one of the weakest things about the movie, and beyond that feel that once everything in the movie is revealed the movie length just doesn't do it justice. I think an additional half an hour, maybe even an hour could have made this a very memorable film.

Regardless I quite enjoyed this, it's a perfectly watchable thriller marred by a fair few flaws but saved by a combination of ambition and Patton.

I have read most of the reviews on here which led me to fall in the middle. I agree not worth the 7.4 it has but the subject manner and story is important to tell. There is more human trafficking in the US than most would believe. Women are over sexualized and that has become the norm, part of our culture, and too easily accepted. The biggest problem I had with this film was just that. The tight clothing, unnecessary sex scenes, the male friend of the lead character (Omar Epps) is a womanizing pig. Also, whomever was the makeup artist n this needs be reprimanded for the overuse of blush on Paula Patton's character, Brea. I found it distracting and kept wondering what was wrong with her face. In a story of this nature the over the top sexualized details are in bad taste. They should of stuck to the basics and the true nature of this despicable industry. In the end it all fell a bit short.

Not sure what is going on here but the votes went way up but they aren't in the demographics. This movie is really bad. Fine for MoviePass but don't pay even a matinee price for this trash.

I would like to think I don't scare easily. This movie had unexpected twists & I loved it. I hated Paula's make-up & dingy ways in the beginning but I got over it. Really enjoyed the characters & story line.

It had me scared for a while, its not a great movie. But is alright for a boring day.

There's a new wave of great brothas out there writing and directing. As a black man, it's exciting to see brothas (and sistas) making moves and comin up. But this is another sad example of the mediocrity and drivel that gets funded and marketed, and then in turn sets black directors and writers back a few steps. The movie is boring. Nothing about this is tense or interesting. All the characters are one-dimensional, and predictable. Still not sure how an international sex trafficking ring really played that much into this. Oh, and what's with spelling it TRAFFIK? Traffick would have worked, and made more sense. But just like the title spelling, the rest of the movie didn't make sense. Omar Epps is straight to Blu Ray now, and they just went and found the most stereotypical white boys they could get. But Paula Patton....daaaymn. That girl is hot! But it's not worth the $$ just to see a few scenes with her in little clothing. The writer/director of this movie is the same dude that made other embarrassments like Chain Letter and Nite Tales. OH, and if you read his bio...dude lies. He didn't play at SDSU, he was there for one year and left because he wasn't a starter. He didn't get a degree there, either. And he didn't play pro ball. Everything about this movie, just like the director, is straight bulls**t. Don't waste your time, bruh.

This film captured the story line brilliantly it kept you on your guard and had at some points in the movie on the edge of your seat waiting for justice. The acting was superb and the director nailed it.

One of the better films out this year 8 out 10 a job well done and glad I went to see it.

This is at best a b-movie and there is no way that it would receive the user rating is has. If you watch the movie it will be obvious the rating has been manipulated. At best its 4 / 10.

I'm confused by all the horrible reviews. It's not The Godfather, but it's certainly not a bad movie. Several unexpected twists, and based on true events.

It is rare with an undoubtedly over-saturated acting pool to draw from, but the talent for this film is definitely sub par. To be more blunt, this movie is unwatchable due to the lack of acting ability displayed by key roles.

Save your time. Watch something good.

From the off this movie gave more reason to stick around. Gripping movie with unexpected twists. Well worth the watch.

I needed, and had, a stiff drink after seeing this movie.

I liked the upside down images behind the end credits. This could indicate the upside down state of the human world. Outstanding conclusion!

Quite watchable and a subject that everyone needs to be aware of, so that one can recognise this type of behaviour and call the alarm if needed. The film comes across as a superfine TV movie with predictable and obvious plot movements. The character coming through at the end was satisfying. All in all it will get you thinking about this catastrophic problem we have.

I don't understand how a movie like this even gets on the market! I am not gonna write a extended critic, it isn't worth it, and other people already made the effort explaining why in extend. I must admire that, cool seeing the community fighting back against manipulated ratings!

The script had all the potential which got executed by a mediocre cast, which in turn made the movie less exiciting. There were many scenes which simply stood out very artificially executed by the cast, particularly by the female lead of the movie. Not really a big screen watch.

I really do like the idea behind the movie, and the fact that it is "based on" true events brings a chilling factor; however, the movie's quality was definitely lacking.

The only good actors were Omar Epps and Luke Goss, everyone was just plain awful. You're going to hear this a lot, and it's true, but Paula Patton is so scandalously clad that her nipples make more of an appearance than she does. I was honestly hoping for all other characters to die off because they were just awful to watch.

The cinematography at some points were just weird. There is no need to show someone running, and then show the same shot but upside-down.

The movie is only horrifying in the fact that this kind of thing actually happens. Other than that, the movie is not thrilling. The movie is boring.
