This is the second collaboration between Jamie Foxx and Taylor Hackford, the first being Ray (2004).

Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Foxx, and Anthony Mackie all appeared in Marvel projects, and also had a close connection to Spider-Man. Banks played Betty Brant, a secretary who works with Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007); Foxx played Max Dillion/Electro, an enemy of Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) who was first introduced in Marc Webb's द अमेजिंग स्पाइडर-मैन 2 (2014); Mackie played Sam Wilson/Falcon, an Avenger who initially fought opposite Spider-Man (Tom Holland) during his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War (2016), though they eventually allied in later films.
