फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
I'll be honest, I haven't been overly impressed with some of the films from this franchise, but they're not all bad, and this is one of the better ones.
It's atmospheric as opposed to creepy, it relies more on the menace brought by the Naxi uniform, as opposed to Annabelle style horror, please don't expect any of the latter.
The acting is a mixed bag, but I'm going to commend Erick Hayden for his role as The Colonel, I thought he played the part well, he was measured, and arguably more chilling than Robert.
On the downside, The Toymaker's makeup looks like it was supplied by Primary School children, it's shabby and ill fitting, a contrast to The Nazi uniforms which look realistic. Robert, once again his little steps are quite funny, he needed a little more mobility.
It didn't have much of a budget, but they did a decent job with what they had, I think it looks pretty nice, the lighting is good, it flows pretty well.
So it's not a big story with a plausible beginning, middle and end, it's more like a snippet, but overall it adds to the overall story of Robert.
I didn't mind this one, 6/10.

AWFUL , TOTAL WASTE OF TIME this movie is unbelievably bad , the acting is the worst i have seen in my life , story is lame , so much unnecessary scenes , don't waste your time watching this movie , and i am really frustrated of all the positive reviews posted , they are misleading and made me waste my time trying to watch this failure of a movies
Robert The Doll (2015) and Curse Of Robert The Doll (2016) were awful films, truly appalling poorly made messes.
For this reason I was stunned they made anymore, and even more stunned when I realised that this one isn't actually bad.
The Toymaker otherwise known as Robert & The Toymaker is a huge improvement. For a start the cast are great, the opening scene especially was extremely good and filled with tension.
Next the movie takes a new direction and isn't another mindless killer doll movie, this origin story is less action and more substance.
There is still plenty of stupidity on display, some ropey sfx, unanswered questions and some clear influence from the Puppet Master franchise but it's a step up from the previous films regardless.
I'd not say this is a good film and I'd recommend it to nobody, what I will say however is the creators are at least heading in the right direction which makes me hope the 4th part will be entertaining.
The Good:
Some decent performances
Great opening
The Bad:
Toymakers makeup effects are terrible
Doesn't actually have much of a story
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
During World War 2 Germans spoke English in their home country
Despite having no joints in a dolls fingers they can still pick things up

Terrible fake accents and budget ageing makeup. Set in WW2 but modern things still left on the set like a Visa credit card sign in the shop and modern toys 😂
After the modern day setting of the first two films this prequel takes us back to Nazi Germany to tell the origin story of Robert the doll. The first film didn't offer a lot of explanation for the doll's reanimation but a glimpse of a sinister toymaker character at the end of the first sequel promised an expanding of the mythology and this third film delivers that. We are introduced to a mysterious book the Nazis want which brings toys to life and we get to know the origin of the Toymaker character and how he first brought the doll to life. Its not without its flaws mostly due to the rough edges you expect from a low budget indie film but there is more effort to provide an actual story in this film which is much needed after the bear bone story of the first two films. The acting is also an improvement on the previous films. A solid 6 out of 10 for me.

The female doll Isabelle is based on Mandy the Doll, an antique doll that was made in Germany between 1910 and 1920. The doll was allegedly possessed by the spirit of a little girl who died in a fire while locked in the basement of her home. In 1991 Mandy was donated to the Quesnel & District Museum located in British Columbia by an anonymous donor, who claimed to hear it repeatedly crying in the night. The clown doll Otto is based on the Pulau Ubin doll. In 1914, the British army investigated a German couple living in Pulau Ubin, Singapore as possible spies. The wife and husband were chased down and apprehended by the army but their young daughter managed to escape. Unfortunately, she lost her footing and plummeted off of a cliff. She did not survive the fall. The locals constructed a monument to honour her memory in Pulau Ubin. The porcelain altar is said to contain a lock of the girl's hair and a personalized crucifix. Shortly after the monument was built, a man from Pulau Ubin had a dream about a little girl leading him to a specific toy store. In the dream she pointed at a doll that was put up for display in the store window. The man had the same dream three nights in a row. Eventually this compelled him to visit the store he kept seeing in his dreams. To his surprise he saw the doll that the girl had pointed out in his dream was displayed in the same window. He purchased the doll and placed it at the shrine in the place of an urn. At that moment he felt that the spirit of the girl transferred to the doll and finally found peace. In the modern day local people and tourists from all around the world visit the doll, bringing items to the shrine in the hope that the spirit of the girl will grant them health or fortune. The third doll, Robert, is based on Robert the Doll who was made in Germany by the Steiff toy company and later owned by Key West painter and author Eugene Otto. The doll is said to be possessed by an evil spirit and was allegedly the inspiration for Chucky, the doll featured in the 'Child's Play' film series. Supposedly, Eugene was given the doll in 1906 by a Bahamian servant who was skilled in black magic and voodoo and was displeased with his family. The real life Robert is currently located at the East Martello Museum in Key West, Florida.
