Ôkami shôjo to kuro ôji

At first glance this movie looks like your typical japanese high school romance, but its underlying theme and psychology is actually pretty sick and depraved. The first dialogue in this movie is a group of high school girls talking about bondage and BDSM. The main guy is a sadist who wants to call the girl his dog and he keeps being mean to her. She has zero self respect and takes it all and falls for him in the process because she's a masochist. And this is painted as cute. When you consider that this stuff is aimed at young teens and what message is conveyed here, you really start to wonder...

I'm very disappointed. 😭 why they didn't follow the story line in Manga or anime?

I watched this movie based on the recommendation of some people who said it's good. But when I watch, I get bored instead, wishing for the movie to end faster.

I can't really get the emotion of the actors because of the camera angle used during dialogue. It was supposed to be an intimate and touching dialogue, but the view was of the tree and sky, instead of the close up of the actors. I felt like it's such a waste. Audience could've got a better engagement with the movie if the scenes show a proper angle especially during dialogue.

Scenes where the happiness and expression of the actors should've been shown, wasn't shown. Instead, they showed an aerial shot or some other wide shot.

Some other scenes were too lengthy, and it was unnecessary long and draggy.

The manga is one of my all time favourite reads, this film not the most faithful adaptation but its very cute, and I was quite impressed with the casting.

Apart from some bizarre cinematography choices (you'll know what I mean if you decide to watch it) and a rushed ending to the story I really enjoyed this and I wanted to see more, the main leads have great chemistry together and the acting was pretty good.
