Loulou de Montmartre

I remember seeing this show on TV for the first time when I was like 8. Aside from the unusual animation (not in a bad way, the animation is gorgeous but it was kind of unusual for western originals to have an "anime" look) what really gripped me was how dark the story was.

I'd never seen anything like it as a little kid, and it was especially shocking compared to all the other slop and childish shows that were shown on the same channel.

Even though I watched it many, many years ago, I still remember most of the show because of how interesting and unique the story was. The mystery and tension in this series was absolutely insane, I could never wait to watch the next episode. The story was just that immersing.

If this series had been released in, say, America, I'm sure it would've gotten the fame and love it deserves. A shame I can't find any versions of the show aside from the original French dub.
