K-dramas are known for their romantic, historical, and revenge-based storylines, but hidden in between the most popular genres are detective stories. The best detective K-dramas contain a well-written mystery that even its most attentive viewers won't be able to solve right away. Many detective series follow a similar formula in which its protagonists are compelled to return to crime-solving after leaving their jobs due to traumatic events. Such is the case in K-dramas like Hello Monster and Tell Me What You Saw.

Others in the genre, including He Is Psychometric and Inspector Koo, shake things up and include greater hints of comedy and romance than what is typically expected of a detective series. Munich-based sales agency Beta Cinema has picked up international thriller “Operation Napoleon,” and will kick off presales at the Cannes Film Market.

Icelandic production company Zik Zak Filmworks has appointed Ragnheidur Erlingsdóttir as its new CEO.

Zik Zak’s former CEO Skúli Malmquist is now managing director of the Iceland Dance Company.

Erlingsdóttir previously oversaw legal and business affairs for the London-based sales, production and finance company Rocket Science. She is an Iceland native who worked as a producer there (on films including Xl and Rainbow Party) before moving to the UK for four years.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa plays Mr. Mitch, who is a favorite among students. Mr. Mitch is “the cool, universally loved teacher, guidance counselor, and occasional gym coach and school nurse,” per Fox’s description.

Jones, who played Poehler’s on-screen best friend on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” plays Mia on “Duncanville.” Mia is Duncan’s on-again, off-again crush, per Fox. She’s equal parts charming and woke — an activist who believes in feminism and individualism.
