Generous themes used in beautiful manner. Drops of romance, bits of freedom, an outgoing detective , his partner and Jane. Good special effects, not bad performances. And inspired end. So, just decent Sci. Fi.

It was decent, but could've been better.

The overall story, the length, scene breakdowns/editing were all good. Unfortunately, the acting fell short a few time ...the lead was ok (he was really trying ...a little too much sometimes). The lead actress was pretty good, the partner ...not so much. Along with some pretty lame fighting/shootouts, it got a lower rating than I'd normally give.

Was director Deepak Chetty's MFA Thesis film at The University of Texas at Austin. Was shot in native stereoscopic 3D, not post converted. Shot over a period of 9 days with 2 days of pickups. 75% percent of the film was shot on actual sets built on a soundstage at UT.

Title Card: Artificial Intelligence, AI, exists. What began as complex software has evolved into the physical realm: hardware. The evolution has created a new form of beings whose appearance, utility and programmed function resembles that of a human. They are known as Synths.
Title Card: They are governed by a strict set of rules, the primary of which states that under no circumstance must they be allowed to possess a sense of self. Among their primary purposes: exploration, mining, construction, security, and pleasure.
Title Card: A resistance is growing among those known as Emancipators who are seeking radical methods to give Synths true sentience. Aware of this act of rebellion the ruling body, a megacorp known as govcentral has dedicated a special task force named Tec Crimes to stop any occurrence of illegal synthetic emancipation.
