Good period action movie. Very entertaining. All actors acted well

One of the beautiful filim Malayalam filim industry ever made. From story to characterisation to songs to acting this movie made a bench mark. Can't praise enough for the director cum cinimatographer Amal neerad. Acting wise Fahad ,Lal,Jayasuriya,chemban and all other characters did their best. Cant stop mentioning the song rave.Its wonder. A must watch Malayalam movie I give 9/10. This is most underrated movie in Malayalam may be.

I had no idea what the movie was about before I started watching it. But it captures your attention from the word go and doesn't let up till the end. Am truly amazed by each aspect of this movie. The cinematography of course is top notch ... The visuals in each frame and angle of camera is really unique. Every character was built and portrayed really well. The story had so many different layers n sub plots... I think the songs were unnecessary and ruined the pace if the film. I did however love the fact that there was no undue drama in the climax and there were no long drawn dialogs as is typical in most movies. Definitely one of the best Malayalam movies i have seen in a very long time. Kudos to the cast n crew!

I can safely say this one the best period movie in Lalayalam so far, thanks for Amal Neerad, the director for the effort put in. The casting is top, no complaints, superb performance from all. Lal, Fahad, Jayasurya, Jose... all did their part very well. Stunning visuals, the frames will remain in you for days. Again the magic touch of Amal Neerad. The back ground score well sync with the movie. As with most of Amal Neerad movies, the songs are exceptionally well, and photographed superb. Thanks for the new team of music director and singer. The film is already got enough appreciation from critiques and reviewers. Overall an excellent movie experience. I can safely recommend as a must watch.

This movie actually surprised me a bit. Two things I absolutely loved about it - Amal neerad's cinematography and fahad's Aloshey.the creative reconstruction of the Russian novel under the colonial period with the mesmerizing beauty of Munnar as background was totally unexpected. Iyobinte Pustakam gave more space to all the actors to perform as none of them seems to be less important. The movie brings to light some significant socio-political issues of the era highlighted by feudal mindset of Iyob and the rebell inside Aloshey. Lal,who is a proved actor have handled Iyob with ease and perfection. Padmapriya's Rachel is the real twist element in the story and she have done justice with it. This is perhaps the best reply to all the criticisms calling Fahad Fazil a highly typecast actor. The music suits the mood of the movie but could have been made better. The stunning visuals are the best part of the movie which is almost breathtaking. Amal neerad has freed himself from constant trolling over the extended slo-mo scenes. This is surely the best movie of his career so far.
