“Monster” found its Lizzie Borden for Season 4. The Netflix anthology series cast Ella Beatty in the lead role for the next installment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s hit true crime saga, TheWrap has learned.

The series also cast Rebecca Hall to play Lizzie’s stepmother Abby, and Vicky Krieps will play Bridget Sullivan, a maid in the Borden home. The news comes as Netflix prepares to debut Season 3 later this year, which will star Charlie Hunnam as serial killer Ed Gein.

The casting marks the return for all three actresses into the Murphy universe. Beatty, whose parents are Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, previously appeared in a recurring role on “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” on FX. Hall is in the cast of Murphy’s upcoming FX drama “The Beauty” and Krieps is set to star in “Monster” Season 3.

AMC is making a big change to Interview With the Vampire for the show’s third season. The core cast remains, as does showrunner Rolin Jones, but the series is being retitled as The Vampire Lestat.

The change, announced Saturday at Comic-Con, marks a shift in the series based on Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels. Seasons one and two of Interview With the Vampire, inspired by Rice’s first novel, focused on the relationship between Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and the vampire who turned him, Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), with Louis recounting his story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian).

Season three will shift to Lestat’s point of view, as Reid’s character becomes a rock star and tries to reclaim his story from the way Louis told it, inspired by Rice’s second novel in the series (also called The Vampire Lestat).

Last year, Deadline reported that Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis was prepping to fill the late legend Angela Lansbury’s shoes in a new version of “Murder, She Wrote,” the beloved ’80s and ’90s series that saw mystery novelist Jessica Fletcher (Lansbury) tracking down murderers in the sleepy Maine hamlet of Cabot Cove, as well as in her globe-trotting travels (courtesy of the Universal Studios backlot).

At the “Freakier Friday” premiere, Curtis confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the project is still on the way, in a dramatic fashion: “Oh, it’s…,” employs pregnant pause and dramatic facial expressions, “happening.”

Variety has confirmed that Ella Beatty will star as Lizzie in the fourth season of the Netflix anthology series. In addition, Rebecca Hall has been cast as Lizzie’s stepmother, Abby Borden, while Vicky Krieps will play Bridget Sullvan, a maid in the Borden household.

The fourth season of “Monster” was first reported to be in the works back in early July. “Monster” Season 3, which will star Charlie Hunnam as Ed Gein, is believed to be releasing later in 2025.

The first trailer for “Eyes of Wakanda,” a four-episode limited animated series executive produced by “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler, has been released. It will release on Disney+ on Aug. 1.

Martha Holmes, the Emmy-winning natural history veteran, is stepping down from her role as chief creative officer of natural history and adventure at Plimsoll Productions, the ITV-owned company she helped launch over a decade ago.

Although Holmes will be stepping back from day-to-day activities at the Brit company, she will transition into a non-executive board position and will continue to serve as executive producer across key projects.

Following a lowball offer in March – the terms of which were about to expire – Mfe’s voluntary public takeover offer has now risen to €4.48 ($5.22) per share in cash and 1.3 newly-issued Mfe-a shares for each ProSiebenSat.1 share. This values Prosieben’s shares at €8.15 ($9.51) based on the Mfe-a stock’s price on the Euronext Milan Stock Exchange on Friday, according to ProSieben.

Mfe is basically now offering €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion) for the 70% of ProSieben that it doesn’t already own.
