When he created the first Angry Video Game Nerd video he only had the intention to show it to a few friends as a joke.

He used to work in a liquor store before his YouTuber took off. He hated it.

His maternal grandfather was the one who introduced him to the Atari video games.

He participated in an online petition that was to save the Paris Opera film set used in The Phantom of the Opera (1925) and many other films from demolition. While the set itself was preserved, its soundstage unfortunately ended up being demolished in order to make room for additional space for the theme park areas of Universal Studios.

Hosted an annual haunted house from his parent's garage through high school.

As of 2021, he's made over 500 films, though it should be noted he counts his game reviews, movie reviews and TV reviews as films.

In November 2013, his wife posted an update on his Cinemassacre website that their daughter is continually seeking medical treatment due to unnamed complications. On April 13, 2016, Rolfe revealed what happened while announcing an auction of various Cinemassacre memorabilia to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. During birth, his daughter suffered nerve damage in one of her arms and required many months of physical therapy to recover full use of her arm. Rolfe expressed gratitude to Shriners for all they did for his family during that time.

During his childhood, he was an avid collector of Nintendo Power magazines. Although he praised the magazine in many ways (especially for its insider-information regarding Nintendo games), he found himself disgusted by the advertisements that have been later printed on the first pages. It even went so far that he once stapled the first two pages of an Nintendo Power issue together, out of disgust from what he saw.

He first started story telling with a camera. He would take pictures, tape them to a piece of paper and write down below the image what was happening in the story. When his parents purchased a video camera, he began making videos, which is what kick started his obsession with film making.

Is a huge fan of the Rocky movies.

Despite his portrayal of the Angry Video Game Nerd as being hot headed, Rolfe is actually mild mannered and cool tempered.

He attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia from 1999 to 2004. He continued residing in Philadelphia after graduation. He briefly relocated to Los Angeles while filming Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie (2014), returning to Philadelphia upon completion of the movie.

Is a huge fan of Jackie Chan, and even considers him to be his favorite actor.

His maternal grandfather served in the U.S. Navy.

He is also the co-creator of Cinemassacre, an online movie review site and a place he posted his videos to before youtube was even available (youtube was made in 2006) (His site (Cinemassacre.com) was made in 2004).

His favorite video games are Akumajô Dorakyura (1986), The Hyrule fantasy: Zeruda no densetsu (1986), Super Mario Bros. (1985), Rockman (1987), Metoroido (1986) and Kontora (1987).

Rolfe was an early adopter of digital video, purchasing a Panasonic AG-DVX100 camcorder during his senior year of college while his peers were still using wind-up 16mm film cameras. The results he got with the DVX100 were so impressive that the rest of his class immediately started using it as well.

Has a tattoo located on his upper left arm.

The oldest TV series he remember seeing as a kid was Turbo Teen (1984).

He is a passionate movie collector, with a great variety of videos in different formats, ranging from VHS over Laserdisc to Blu-ray.

While known for his video game reviews, Rolfe admittingly is not a fan of modern video games and has said that about the most recent platforms that he plays regularly are the Nintendo 64 and the original PlayStation.

Had a falling out with long-time collaborators Kyle Justin and Brendan Castner in 2016. Neither has appeared on the Cinemassacre channel since.
