He was considered for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Batman (2021).

He was born in Longmont, Colorado to an Irish mother, Tara (Reynor) O'Grady, a human rights activist and American father. He moved to County Wicklow, Ireland, when he was two, and was raised there by his mother and maternal grandparents, Pat and Damien Reynor.

He holds dual citizenship of the U.S. and Ireland.

Has been a fan of Marion Cotillard since he was a kid when he saw her in Taxi (1998). He told that it was an honor to work with Cotillard in Macbeth (2015).

[on shooting Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) and Macbeth (2015)] To go from one project to the other was like culture shock, but it was such a fantastic experience. I had great teachers in Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard to help me with the language and dialogue. I have so much respect for them and it's something I'm very proud of.

I've never lost interest in film. Since I was 5 years of age, it's been my life. I'm fascinated by storytelling. I come from Ireland, obviously, which is a superstitious place where they call us the Land of Saints and Scholars. You know, one of the most valuable cultural tools in Ireland is the ability to tell a story, and to tell it well, and to captivate the people who you tell a story with.
