Phil set a Guinness World Record for being the fastest coin stacker back in 2011. He stacked 25 coins in 31.617 seconds on top of each other.

Phil lives in London with roommate Dan Howell.

He is the creator of the popular 7 Second Challenge and the resulting 7 Second Challenge app.

Back in 2013, Phil was voted Sugarscape's Hottest Lad.

He joined YouTube on February 7, 2006 but did not upload his first video, "Phil's Video Blog - March 27th 2006", until March 27, 2006.

He met Dan Howell through Dan viewing his YouTube videos and messaging Phil on Twitter and that ultimately leading to them messaging/calling on Skype and becoming friends.

Phil's natural hair colour is "a weird shade of brown". For his childhood his hair was strawberry blonde; at the age of eleven, he dyed it blonde; this may be the reason it looked ginger in his early teenage years. Phil dyes it black. He dyes over a white streak at the back of his head; in an undyed picture of it, the rest of Phil's hair is black.

Phil has an older brother named Martyn Lester.
