Standup comedian Bert Kreischer is set to star in and executive produce “Cabin,” a new Netflix improv comedy series based on Martin Petit’s “Les Pecheurs,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.

Additionally, Kreischer has set his second comedy special for the streaming service, “Bert Kreischer: Hey Big Boy.” The standup event, which is directed by Jeff Tomsic and produced by Jax, will launch March 17.

The fact that CBS’s newest comedy, The Great Indoors, airs after the network’s longest-running, mega-hit The Big Bang Theory bodes well for the freshman comedy’s potential to gain some kind of an audience. It’s stocked with fine actors from a collection of other well-known shows and movies, it’s got a decent workplace comedy premise, and series creator Mike Gibbons (Tosh.0) at least knows how to wrangle together the show’s quirky cast into something resembling a neighborhood in the vicinity of charming.

Yet, it’s an effort to make it through just the 20-minute pilot. Many listable reasons throw themselves onto the rails that is the eventual train wreck of The Great Indoors, all acceptable excuses for changing the channel until Mom comes on, or maybe just turning off the TV completely and discovering these mythical “outdoors” that...

Given its perception as an older-skewing network, it’s hardly a shock that it would be CBS day at the Television Critics Association press tour which highlighted the disconnect between generations — and just how damaging that might be to the show’s odds, and television in general.

"Harry Potter" and "UnReal" star Freddie Stroma has been cast as the lead, author H.G. Wells, in Kevin Williamson's ABC pilot "Time After Time" based on Karl Alexander's fantasy novel. The story follows Wells as he tracks Jack the Ripper through time to the modern day.

Morton is the longtime producer and Letterman alum who has worked on several shows, including those starring Wayne Brady, Carlos Mencia and David Alan Grier. Paratore has launched several shows including TMZ and Bonnie Hunt and then, once they are up and running, moves on to new projects. Gibbons credits include creator and executive producer of Comedy Central's Tosh.O, and executive producer of Talk Show With Spike Feresten on Fox as well as The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn and The Showbiz Show With David Spade.
