Hell House LLC may be about to close down, but the team behind the underrated horror franchise is ready to send it out with a bang. After four installments sent directly to video-on-demand or streaming services, director Stephen Cognetti is taking his latest and final film, Hell House LLC: Lineage, to theaters with help from Iconic Events Releasing. The film will arrive on the big screen in August, though an exact date has yet to be announced. Afterwards, it's set to premiere exclusively on the franchise's longtime streaming home Shudder in October, just in time for Halloween.

Handled by Terror Films Releasing, Lineage is billed as the final chapter of the nearly decade-long found-footage series, which is largely based around the fictional titular haunted house attraction and the people who once worked there. Unlike the series’ prior entries — 2015’s Hell House LLC, 2018’s Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel, 2019’s Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, and 2023’s Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor — this one is a traditionally-shot narrative rather than a found footage movie.

Writer-director Stephen Cognetti said that the fifth installment “will likely be the last but also the scariest Hell House.”

The film will continue to dive deeper into the backstories of various characters within the franchise while introducing new characters and storylines.

Newcomers Searra Sawka and Mike Sutton join returning actors Elizabeth Vermilyea, Cayla Berejikian, Victoria Andrunik, Gideon Berger, Bridget Rose Perrotta, Destiny Brown, and James Liddell.

Joe Bandelli, who also plays the aforementioned clown, is producing. Terror Films CEO Joe Dain and COO Jim Klock act as executive producers.

Stephen Cognetti has written and directed every entry in the Hell House LLC franchise, which began in 2015 and currently consists of Hell House LLC, Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel, Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, and the recently released Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor. While doing the press rounds for The Carmichael Manor, Cognetti talked to Bloody Disgusting about his hopes for future installments, saying he has ideas that would require higher budgets and that he would like to move away from the found footage style all of the films have been shot in so far.

Cognetti said, “I make references to this event in a few of the movies, including this one, but also the third one as well is what happened at the Rockland County Fair, back in the day. That’s something I always talk about, this event, and never really making it.

It is exciting to be alive in the 21st century in part because it's when the "Hell House LLC" movies started coming out. I didn't say how big a part.

Last year, Terror Films announced that writer/director Stephen Cognetti would be continuing his found footage Hell House LLC franchise with the prequel Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor – with the plan being that the finished film would be released through the Shudder streaming service sometime in the fall of this year.
