The Kannada horror comedy film Choo Mantar has been witnessing a moderate run at the box office. The film is now inching towards 4 crores. Let us look at the box office collection of the film on its 9th day.

The Sharan starrer earned around 38 lakhs on its 9th day. This was almost an impressive increase of 111% since the film had amassed 18 lakhs on its previous day. The film had opened to 20 lakhs at the box office, which was not very up to the mark. The total India net collection of the film now stands at 3.53 crores.

Choo Mantar is now moving towards 4 crores but needs a significant word of mouth to see a boost in the collection. The day-wise collection has not exceeded above 1 crores which is not a very good sign. The Sharan starrer...

New Delhi, May 28 (Ians) An eerie silence prevailed on Sunday at Jantar Mantar in the national capital where the country’s top wrestlers had been protesting for more than a month against the Wrestling Federation of India (Wfi) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations.

Hours after the forceful end to the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar, following the detention of Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Sangeeta Phogat, and Bajrang Punia, along with their supporters, for violating law and order by breaching the security cordon while attempting to move towards the new Parliament building for a planned women’s ‘Mahapanchayat’, the protest site appeared deserted, with heavy police security still in place.

The Delhi Police began clearing the protest site by removing cots, mattresses, coolers, fans, the tarpaulin ceiling, and other belongings of the wrestlers.

Previously, the site had witnessed support from farmers, khap leaders, and opposition party members.

Wrestler Geeta Phogat, who won India’s first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010, was taken into police custody at Singhu border, as per Delhi Police sources.

She, along with her husband Pawan Saroha, were on way to Jantar Mantar to join the grapplers who have levelled sexual harassment charges against Wrestling Federation of India chief and Bjp MP Brij Bhushan Saran Singh and have been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since April 23 demanding his arrest as well as ouster from the Wfi post.

“Me and my husband Pawan Saroha have been arrested by the Delhi Police,” Phogat said in a tweet.

According to sources, she, along with Saroha, who represented India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won the bronze medal, were taken to Bawana police station after being detained.

New Delhi, April 29 (Ians) Ace wrestler Bajrang Punia, in a late-night video message has said that Delhi Police have disconnected the electricity and water supply at the Jantar Mantar protest site. “See this is the pressure on Delhi Police even as the whole country is standing with us,” Punia, a Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist, added on Friday through Instagram.

According to Punia, the Delhi Police have disconnected the electricity supply, erected barricades around the protest area, and are preventing access to food and water.

He also said that the Delhi Police have lodged two FIRs and demanded that the wrestlers stop their protest.

Earlier on Friday, the police had informed the Supreme Court that they will register an Fir and on late Friday evening finally registered two FIRs allegedly against the Wrestling Federation of India coaches and its President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, in connection with the sexual harassment allegations made by women wrestlers.
