League Baseball Draft. Drafted by the Boston Red Sox out of high
school, but opted to attend the University of Miami instead. Made major
league debut on May 24, 2000 for the Phillies vs. the Houston Astros.
Has drawn hitting comparisons to Mark McGwire early in his major league
career. Tied for major league lead with 18 outfield assists in 2001.
