Zee Studios’ “Gandhi Talks,” directed by Kishor P. Belekar, had a sold out premiere at the 54th International Film Festival of India (Iffi), Goa.

The cast includes Aravind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav. The latter three actors were present at the premiere alongside the filmmakers and composer, the Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman (“Slumdog Millionaire”).

The dark comedy is dialogue free and the only aural language is the music by Rahman. “This movie is a gift to the composer,” Rahman said. “Kishor maintained his integrity, recognizing my creative role, allowing me the freedom to score. I enjoyed the process, creatively reshaping whenever needed. This film is my showreel.”

Mammootty’s latest film Kannur Squad, which released on September 28, 2023, has been receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film, directed by debutant Roby Varghese Raj, is based on the real story of a team of police officers who were part of the Kannur Squad, a crime investigation unit, formed by former Kannur Sp S. Mammootty Kampany, the production house of the megastar Mammootty, is leaving no stone unturned to promote their upcoming crime drama Kannur Squad, which is slated to release on September 28, 2023. The film, directed by debutant Roby Varghese Raj, features Mammootty as Asi George Martin, who leads a team of police officers on a nationwide manhunt mission to nab a notorious criminal gang. The film also stars Vijayaraghavan, Rony David, Kishore, Shabareesh Varma and Azees Nedumangad in pivotal roles.

The makers have been releasing various promotional materials to create a buzz around the film. The first-look poster of the film, which was unveiled on February 26, 2023, showed Mammootty in a stylish avatar with a gun in his hand and a badge on his chest. The poster received positive response from the fans and the media.

New Delhi, Aug 26 (Ians) Pakistan’s star Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has hailed India’s Neeraj Chopra’s performance in the ongoing World Athletics Championship 2023 and wished him luck ahead of the finals.

“Best of luck to Neeraj. Neeraj bhai, Aap bhi achcha karein, Hum bhi achcha karein. Aapka naam hai world me, hamara bhi naam aye”, said Arshad to Sportstar.

Nadeem who just came out of a year-long knee injury, propelled his season-best 86.79m to book his spot in the finals after Neeraj Chopra in the ongoing championship in Budapest.

The Indian star athlete, who topped the qualification mark, secured his spot in the finals with a massive of 88.7m throw. Both the players have also qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 surpassing the qualification mark.

Nadeem posted a photograph on Instagram and expressed his camaraderie towards Neeraj soon after the game and said that he wants Chopra to perform well in the finals.

Budapest, Aug 25 (Ians) After Neeraj Chopra sealed automatic qualification with his season-best throw of 88.77m, Dp Manu and Kishore Jena also displayed a fine performance, joining the Olympic champion in the men’s javelin final at the Athletics World Championships, here on Friday.

Chopra hurled the spear to his season’s and fourth career-best distance in the very first attempt, topping the Qualification Group A. In the process, the ace Indian breached the 2024 Paris Olympic qualification mark of 85.50m.

The 23-year-old Manu, who won the silver at the Asian Athletics Championships this year, finished sixth overall across both groups and qualified for the final with his best effort of 81.31m.

Both of Tuesday’s matches will be majorly a battle of pride for the teams involved.

Both Hyderabad Fc and Tribhuvan Army Fc have so far drawn one game and lost the other and therefore will be desperate to end their 132nd Durand Cup campaign with a win.
