Major league baseball umpire. Called his first game in 1975 and became
a member of the National League's umpiring staff in 1978. One of 22
umpires who lost their jobs in 1999 after their union called for a mass
resignation.
The spreads in the umpires' rooms are fantastic. I'd be attacking them while I still had my uniform on. Five, six beers, snacks. Then it's time to go out and have a big meal. Four, five more beers, bottle of wine, more food, go to bed.
