When Ridgway was 16, he led a 6 year old boy into the woods and stabbed him non fatally in the chest. He then walked away laughing and saying that "He always wondered what it would be like to kill someone".

When Robert Rule, whose daughter Linda Rule was a victim, told Ridgway that he didn't hate him and in fact forgave him for what he had done, Ridgway broke down crying and admitted remorse for the first time.

When police first started investigating the murders, they consulted serial killer Ted Bundy to form a profile.

He was first became a suspect in his murders in 1983.

His murders had the largest number of killings in USA.

Almost all of his confirmed victims were teenagers and young women.
