Grew up in Dießen, Bavaria and Munich.

Studied acting at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule in Munich and Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Made his stage debut at the Theater of Trier (1968).

Also a popular cabaret artist, winning several important awards such as Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis (1982), Deutscher Kabaretpreis (1996) and Prix Pantheon (1997).

Since 1994, Jörg Hube been in a relationship with the actress Beatrix Doderer.

He appeared in two Sophie Scholl biopics: Die weiße Rose (1982) and Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage (2005). He played an Oberregierungsrat in the former and her father Robert Scholl in the latter.
