His favorite all-time band is U2. He continues to write all of his movies to their music. At one point, The Girl Next Door (2004) contained three U2 songs: "In a Little While," "Bad," and "One Tree Hill".
I was obsessive about it. It was like USC film school or die. When I
was thirteen, I started writing letters to the film school. I would
send my super eight movies. So by the time I was eighteen and able to
apply to USC, they all knew me.
