He and Alan Simpson wrote the dialogue for Jacob's Journey in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat," in an Young Vic Production at the Albery Theatre in London, England with Peter Reeves, Alex McAvoy (played Jacob), Gary Bond (played Joseph), Joan Heal, Paul Brooke, Sam Cox, Ian Trigger, Peter Blake, Gordon Waller (played Pharoah), and Kevin Williams in the cast. Frank Dunlop was director. Christopher Bruce choreographed Part Two.
He and his writing partner, Alan Simpson, were both awarded the OBE
(Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's 2000
Millennium New Years Honors List for their services to television
comedy and drama.
