Chubby, curly-haired small-part character actor of stage and screen, former straight man to comedian Tommy Cooper. Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. A semi-regular in the 'Carry On' films, he also tended to play minor heavies and is best remembered for his drinking scene with Karen Allen in
