Isabel Dawn and her husband Boyce DeGaw lived in a large North Hollywood ranch, close to Universal Studios in 1936. As a writing team they write their scripts beside the swimming pool in the center of their tropical garden. For writing inspiration six rare white peacocks strut around the pool.

During her stay in 1932 at Raynham Castle, Norfolk, England, Isabel was given the Royal Bedchamber. Above the bed were the royal crests of all the queens who had slept there, including Mary, Victoria, and Elizabeth.

Gossip columns reported that Isabel Dawn's date at The Band Box, a popular Hollywood night club, was Sergeant John Bushaw. They also related that he was one of Isabel's companions in a recent auto crash.

Isabel Dawn Seitz was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles, California USA.

"Marathon," co-written by Isabel Dawn, had thirty players and a stage band. The twenty scenes depicted the dancing craze, the marathon dance, with comedy and tragedy incorporated. During the scenes the dancers were often seen on the dance floor doing sprints.
