In 1958, he co-starred with Joan Davis in an unsold comedy pilot entitled, "Joan of Arkansas" about a klutzy woman who was chosen by a computer to be the ideal candidate to be the first "man on the moon."
The only actor to play two re-occurring roles on Gunsmoke (1955) television series. He was the stagecoach driver Jim Buck in the first few seasons of the show, and portrayed Floyd the bartender (replacing Glenn Strange's character of Sam after Strange died) in the final season of the series.
