During filming Never Cry Wolf (1983), he fell in love with the Canadian Northwest region and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he has resided since the mid-1980s.
I intend to do things of artistic integrity. I grew up thinking that
every movie should be The Graduate (1967). I don't want to do something just
because it might be commercially popular--it's more important to do
something that has meaning.
