- His film, "The Hitch" was conceived, filmed and edited in two days as part of a 48-Hour film contest. It was a collaboration with cinematographer and long-time friend, Kenny Strawn.
- Celebrated 20 years producing and directing commercial content for Yellow Shoes, the creative services group within The Walt Disney Company.
- Made his first three movies by the age of 11 using his Grandfather's Super 8 movie camera.
- Studied the trumpet from 3rd Grade through his last year in college.
- Played the role of a baker in the very last episode of Dawson's Creek (1998) but his scene ended up on the cutting room floor.

The bicycle he rode was the Pro Freestyle Tour, manufactured by GT Bicycles, also a California-based company who's initials matched Thompson's full name: "Geoffrey Todd".
- During the summer of 1988, Thompson starred in a film he and his friends shot and edited on an RCA camcorder called "The Last Wild Night". The story follows a kid who takes his father's sports car on a joy ride around town the last night of summer vacation. The film was a who's who of their Valley Forge High School senior class and a VHS copy was circulated around school their graduating year for all to enjoy.
- His wife is an art director and professional photographer.
- Named an ambassador of Jane Fonda's Covey Film Festival in 2015.
- Graduated from Valley Forge High School in May, 1989 and The University of Akron in December, 1994.
