Kenzo SS26, under Nigo, reinvents Parisian nightlife with Club Kenzo: freestyle, subcultures, and bold experimentation.

Kenzo returns to Paris for the SS26 season under the direction of Nigo, who brings together decades of influence through a concept titled Club Kenzo. This season draws from multiple references: Andy Warhol’s Factory, Kenzo Takada’s Parisian studio, and Nigo’s own creative orbit, to build a collection that looks outward while maintaining a personal tone. At Club Kenzo, rules do not apply, genders are not kept rigid, and dressing becomes a form of invitation.

Kenzo’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, presented at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, documents the intercultural exchanges that have intervened between East and West, America and Japan, and most notably in the show, between George Lucas’ science fiction and Akira Kurosawa’s historic imagery. The two distinct ways of filmmaking combined to inspire a perfect synthesis in Kenzo’s show. The fashion label is owned by Lvmh.

Kenzo’s artistic director Nigo, the DJ and record producer, already known as the founder of the streetwear brand A Bathing Ape, once again depicted the introduction of non-Western influences into Eastern culture as a key element of his imagery when designing for the fashion house founded by Kenzo Takada. Kenzo Takada, who created the international luxury fashion house Kenzo, died in Paris on Sunday from Covid-19 complications, according to a spokesperson for his K-3 brand. “It is with immense sadness that the brand K-3 announces the loss of its celebrated artistic director, Kenzo Takada. The world-renowned designer passed away on October 4th, 2020 due to Covid-19 related complications at the age of 81 at the American Hospital, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France,” the company statement read. Takada appeared in numerous documentaries and TV series during his career. He also directed the 1981 film “Yume, yume no ato,” which he also wrote. In 1970, Takada debuted his namesake fashion line in Paris. His “Jungle Jap” featured loud colors and mismatched prints inspired by his travels around the world. It was an instant sensation. He opened a store in Paris’ Place des Victoires by 1976, and his empire grew from there, including the launch of a perfume.

The legendary fashion designer died on Sunday after battling a brain tumour - and his loss has been felt by stars from all over the entertainment industry.

Saint Laurent's funeral took place in Paris, France on Thursday at the city's Saint-Roch church - with Paris' shops closing for two hours to pay their respects to the design icon.
