He was the first African-American student to receive an athletic
scholarship from Tulane University.
Inducted into the Tulane Athletics Hall Of Fame in 1995
Son, also named Harold, played basketball for the U.C.L.A. Bruins from
1995-1997.
In 2014 Harold donated many of his personal papers spanning forty years of acting, theatre and early sports career to the Tulane University (Amistad Research Center).
Graduate of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans.
