Seth Holt was to direct, and began location shooting on the film, only to met with some bad weather. Holt was not bothered by this and filmed scenes in the rain without difficulty, but the studio cut off the money and the film was left unfinished and abandoned. Some people, including Holt (and probably Scott), felt that the decision was motivated by politics more than pragmatism.
