Nye met Carl Reiner while entertaining troops in World War II. Both men had entered the Army as regular soldiers, but due to their talents were soon assigned to Special Services, performing in shows across the Pacific. Together they developed a mutual magic for original, entertaining sketches that carried them into their long comedic careers.
