To date, Emmy voters have showered Only Murders in the Building with 49 nominations and seven wins, though none of the main actors has prevailed. That could all change for the buzzed-about fourth season, which aired last summer and is now eligible at the 2025 Emmys.
According to our updated odds, Martin Short (Oliver Putnam) is out front to win his Best Comedy Actor category, just months after he shockingly scored at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. His costars, Steve Martin (Charles-Haden Savage) and Selena Gomez (Mabel Mora), are both in sixth place for nominations. The three leads play unlikely crime-solvers who podcast about murders that occur in and around their building, the fancy-schmancy Arconia in New York City.
Season 4 features a sprawling roster of special guests, including two actors — Meryl Streep (Loretta Durkin) and Paul Rudd (Glen Stubbins) — who received supporting nominations last year. Due to an already-controversial new Emmy rule,...

From Blink–182 frontman to filmmaker, Tom DeLonge continues his long-standing obsession with the paranormal in Monsters of California, a coming-of-age sci-fi adventure that lands on UK digital platforms from 7 July 2025. Co-written and directed by DeLonge alongside Ian Miller, the film is an unabashed homage to classic teen-driven genre fare, blending conspiracy theories, alien sightings and teenage recklessness into a fast-paced story with supernatural overtones.
Set under the sun-drenched skies of Southern California, the film follows Dallas Edwards, played by Jack Samson, whose adolescence is punctuated by grief, mischief and a consuming belief that extraterrestrial life is not only real but lurking dangerously close. Along with his closest friends Riley (Jared Scott) and Toe (Jack Lancaster), Dallas digs into a string of strange phenomena, convinced they’re connected to the disappearance of his fighter pilot father years earlier.

Another key cast member from Only Murders in the Building is now officially confirmed for Season 5. Meryl Streep will be reprising her role as Oliver's wife Loretta Durkin in the upcoming season of the Hulu series.
The casting announcement was made on the official X account for the show, which shared a video of Selena Gomez and Streep discussing the latter's return. After Gomez, who co-leads Only Murders as Mabel Mora, asked Streep if she would be back for Season 5, the Oscar-winning actor began her response, "Well, I think that depends on—," before being cut off by Gomez, who stated, "No, no, no. That wasn't a question." While this Only Murders return is exciting news, fans shouldn't expect to see more of Streep than they did in the previous two seasons, with the actor once again expected to be a recurring guest star in Season 5.

“There’s a dignity to this,” John Mulaney said in the penultimate episode of his talk show, “Everybody’s Live,” while preparing to fight three 14-year-olds live on Netflix.
Time will tell if there is dignity to be found in what occurred during the show’s teen-themed finale, but for the past month, Mulaney promised the world that he would fight three teenagers, and no one can say that he didn’t. Ben, Jacob, and Adarsh (last names withheld for legal reasons) could not have been more serious about the task at hand, and together they achieved something that should strike fear into the hearts of Hollywood.
“The worst part of fighting is knowing you gotta fight,” said guest Adam Sandler, and Mulaney quickly agreed, sharing that he was already thinking about the confrontation which would not occur for close to an hour. Indeed, for the rest of the episode,...

On Wednesday, John Mulaney made good on his promise to fight three 14-year-old boys. Well, he made Ok on the promise.
“Four weeks ago, I promised to fight three 14-year-olds. From thousands of submissions, we selected three young men that are about to join me on the mat,” Mulaney set the Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney bit up. “All you at home, all you’ve done is talk, talk, talk. It’s time to end the smack talk, end the conjecture and settle this, man-to-boy.”
The rules for the final segment on his “What Is on the Mind of Teens?” episode were pretty straight-up: no punching, no kicking, no gouging, no biting. Headlocks were legal, “so long as the arm is encircled” (one of your opponent’s arms had to be included within the head or neck lock). In other words, it wasn’t so much a fight as...

We finally know exactly who would win in a fight between John Mulaney and three 14-year-old boys. Now it’s time for 100 men and one gorilla to step into the ring.
At the beginning of the first season of Everybody's Live with John Mulaney, the stand-up superstar and anarchist late-night host issued a challenge to the families among his viewership based on a viral Twitter thread: Send out your finest three 14-year-old boys, and Mulaney would fight them live on stream in the season finale. Leading up to tonight’s closing episode of Everybody's Live, fans were convinced that Mulaney had some kind of cheeky rug-pull planned, and that he wouldn’t actually try to physically best a few minors and possibly end his illustrious career in disgrace.

The Comeback Kid. Baby J. Andrew Glouberman. John Mulaney has many names in the Netflix universe, and now he’s claimed one more: live talk show host. Mulaney is hosting, co-showrunning, and executive producing Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney through his company, Multiple Camera Productions, alongside executive producers Ashley Edens, Dave Ferguson, and John Foy.
As Mulaney reminds us at the top of his monologue each week, the talk show streams “live around the world with no delay.” This 12-episode season is a continuation of John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A., which was part of last year’s Netflix is a Joke Fest. Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, which the host himself insists will “never be relevant,” features Richard Kind as its beloved announcer; Saymo as both trusty snack-delivery robot and Richard Kind antagonizer; and a slate of rotating guest panelists who will discuss a weekly “universal” topic.

The decision for John Mulaney to fight three 14-year-olds was only taken somewhat lightly.
“We air on a Wednesday. That decision was made, I think at about maybe 10:30/11 p.m. on Tuesday night,” executive producer and writer David Ferguson recalled at a recent FYC event for “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.” Mulaney and his team realized that they rarely tease their next show, and wouldn’t it be fun to do just that?
Thus: “John Mulaney versus three 14-year-olds,” which rose out of a recent spat of online debates about 100 men fighting a gorilla. But the original idea for this week’s episode was actually much more similar to its upcoming iteration; early in the season, writer Langston Kerman pitched a segment entitled “Are you stronger than a 16-year old?”
“Pretty straightforward premise,” Kerman said on the panel. “We take a grown man who is not on television, has no experience in entertainment,...

Poker Face proudly harkens back to an older-fashioned style of television show with a mystery of the week. The Peacock show sees Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie travel across the USA and get herself caught up in murderous situations. Her natural talent for spotting a liar helps her work out the murderer, whether she wants to or not.
In the era of big arcs and complicated plots, Poker Face is committed to the classic format. Every episode features a new location, a new cast and everything nearly gets resolved by the end of the episode.
Season 1 of Poker Face had an overarching theme after Charlie got herself in trouble with the Vegas mafia. This lingering plot is resolved in the first three episodes of season 2. The rest of the series is a true week-to-week offering, with Charlie visiting baseball teams, schools, and food delivery services.

Just when you think coming-of-age animated series “Big Mouth” on Netflix couldn’t be any raunchier, co-creator and star Nick Kroll reveals the time that he and his cohorts realized they probably went too far.
“Maury [Kroll] was allowed to have sex with the decapitated skull of Garrison Keillor, and this was before Keillor went down, mind you, and [Netflix] still let that go,” Kroll told me Thursday at the show’s series finale premiere at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. (Minnesota Public Radio cut ties with Keillor in 2017 after an investigation found he had engaged in dozens of sexually inappropriate incidents over many years.)
“But there’s another moment in that scene where…Rick takes a thermometer out of his sick little dick, and a little bit of blood spurts out,” Kroll laughed. “It’s the grossest thing. Netflix was like, ‘Could you maybe…’ and we were like, ‘Yeah, we saw.

Big Mouth, Netflix’s hit animated series following a group of friends navigating puberty, is coming to an end after eight seasons, following a rare model where its characters actually grow up.
“It is puberty and we really covered so much of what we set out to do and about this journey,” co-creator and star Nick Kroll told The Hollywood Reporter at the show’s Los Angeles premiere on Thursday of the decision to wrap up. “Most animated shows, they go on forever; people are frozen in whatever time they are in. Our show evolved and the kids evolved and they moved through time and they grew and they changed, and that was part of the joy of making the show.”
Co-creator Andrew Goldberg echoed that after working for over a decade on Family Guy, where those characters all stayed the same age, “I kind of assumed that our show would be the same.

Exclusive: Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale is back on the case in Season 2 of Peacock’s Poker Face, which made a promising return to the streamer earlier this month, per preliminary Nielsen data.
Season 2 launched with three new episodes on May 8, boosting the series to become a Top 5 original title across all of streaming, based on minutes viewed for the week of May 5.
Exact data isn’t available just yet, though it will be in a few weeks when Nielsen releases its streaming report for that interval. Deadline also understands that Season 2 of Poker Face is the No. 2 streaming original based on average audience for the week of May 5.
This is a strong start for the sophomore season of Poker Face, which is still debuting new episodes each Thursday. The series is a mystery-of-the-week series following Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying.

John Mulaney and his team of writers came together for a special screening and Q&a for the three-time Emmy winner’s Netflix show, Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, as part of the streamer’s Fysee LA screening series in Hollywood.
Ahead of the sit-down chat — moderated by Fred Armisen at the Egyptian Theatre on Saturday night — Mulaney spoke with Gold Derby about the show’s open-format style, which he described as a cross between doing Netflix specials and being on a comedy tour, along with the “electric” level of talent who joined the process.
“Conan [O’Brien] and [David] Letterman … I was so flattered they wanted to do it,” he told Gold Derby. “And Randy Newman, Tina [Fey]. And also the excitement of someone like Stavros [Halkias] or Robby Hoffman, Nikki Glaser, who I’ve known for so many years. Zero out of 10 dentists recommend following Sarah Silverman’s bedtime routine.
Tonight’s installment of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney touched on a topic that roughly 12 percent of Americans will find to be all too relevant: “Why Can’t I Sleep?” The insomnia-focused episode featured a blindfolded Mulaney talking through the sleep habits of his guests, his fans and his sidekick alongside an unreasonably handsome neuroscientist, and the seemingly mundane subject brought out some batshit insane stories from the group, such as when Richard Kind revealed that he once took a nap in the bathroom during a date.
But of all the bizarre and unhealthy sleep routines featured on tonight’s Everybody’s Live, stand-up legend Sarah Silverman had by far the most inadvisable and inimitable strategy for falling asleep every night. As she explained to the panel, Silverman starts her wind-down by flossing her teeth, then she smokes weed,...

On tonight’s episode of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, Richard Kind revealed the secret of his sexual prowess: power naps.
With his Netflix talk show, John Mulaney wants to reimagine the late-night format through the lens of sheer insanity, an ambition he could only achieve with the help of the single most chaotic side-kick in show business. Kind, 68, has committed to the bit of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney so hard that he has often stolen the entire show, such as when he broke Pete Davidson by screaming “He’s in the Order of the Gash!,” or when he threw on his finest ripped T-shirt to perform a perfect Bill Belichick parody.
Then, during tonight's episode of Everybody's Live, the topic of sleep trouble perfectly segued into what Mulaney is calling “my favorite Richard Kind story of all time” as the veteran stage and screen actor revealed...

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Poker Face” Season 2, Episode 3.
Any “Poker Face” fan would have expected the second installment of the Rian Johnson-created series to play out in a similar way to last season: Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale travels across the country in her Plymouth Barracuda solving murders before the finale sees her come face-to-face with the current antagonist.
But, instead, “Poker Face” threw out the rule book and eliminated the threat looming over Charlie from mob boss Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman) in just the third episode of the season with an FBI string gone wrong that puts Beatrix into witness protection and Charlie without a hit on her head.
“When we started talking about different options of a … through-line, I don’t think any of them really excited us creatively,” showrunner Tony Tost told TheWrap. “We’re under that assumption that you have this big bad...

The first season of Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne's Poker Face drew praise that was universal, giving it a near-perfect score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 has since debuted with its first three episodes, and the new season is off to an incredible start with a score that's even more impressive.
Currently, Season 2 of Poker Face has a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Like the first season, Lyonne has drawn a lot of praise in particular for her performance as Charlie Cale. The new season's guest stars are also getting some high marks. While the 100% score could potentially drop if future episodes are not as well-received, there's no doubt that the second season couldn't be off to a better start.
"Poker Face Season 2 doesn’t just match the first season, it confidently surpasses it," reads a review by Discussing Film critic Nicolas Celgadillo. "The Peacock series firmly solidifies its own unique rhythm,...

Richard Kind, the voice of Bing Bong in the Inside Out franchise, has explained why his character wasn't present in the recent sequel. He spoke about the character, playing the role, and why Bing Bong didn't need to come back for Inside Out 2.
Per Screen Rant, Kind revealed that he actually has connections with Pixar Cco and director Pete Docter, but he didn't feel the need to use them to reprise his role. "There's one thing I don't do is ask friends for work, or even intimate friends for work. So, when I wasn't in Inside Out 2, it was all fine, and I couldn't have been there, because it would have been a false reality," Kind said. "We all know what happened to Bing Bong."

Richard Kind’s beloved Inside Out character may have missed out on 2024’s sequel, but the veteran Pixar voice actor has his own ideas for a prequel TV series. Having previously lent his vocal talents to A Bug’s Life, Cars, Cars 2, and Toy Story 3, Kind played the forgotten imaginary friend Bing Bong in 2015’s Inside Out. In a touching sequence, Bing Bong valiantly sacrifices himself to allow Amy Poehler’s Joy to escape the Memory Dump and save Riley (Kaitlyn Dias). Having been erased from Riley’s memory, Bing Bong sadly did not return for 2024’s Inside Out 2.
Speaking with ScreenRant about his appearance in Poker Face season 2, Kind spoke about his desire to reprise his Inside Out character in what he envisions as a prequel television series. Suggesting the show could follow Bing Bong and Riley when she is around three or four years of age, the...

Exclusive: Richard Kind addresses his absence from Inside Out 2, explaining why he feels Bing Bong not returning for the sequel ultimately benefited the franchise's journey so far. Kind's imaginary friend was a key character of the 2015 Pixar animated feature, being the long-forgotten companion of Riley whom Joy (Amy Poehler) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) stumble across on their journey back to Headquarters. The 2024 sequel focuses its attention on Riley's existing Emotions as they grapple with some new Emotions joining their ranks.
While Kind sat down to discuss his appearance in Poker Face season 2 with Screen Rant, the actor revealed why he found himself omitted from Inside Out 2. FBI agent Luca Clark (Simon Helberg) returned for more action in Episode 3 of “Poker Face,” which is in the midst of a second season boasting more murders, more Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) investigations and more guest stars — including stand-up comedian John Mulaney.
Rian Johnson’s charming murder-of-the-week show features different marquee guest stars in every episode. But since Helberg plays one of the show’s few recurring characters, he’s had a chance to grow the trajectory of Luca since Season 1.
“It’s exciting to see how he fumbles up the ladder, starting from driving around geriatric retired ex-cons in witness protection, all the way to cracking these really significant cases for the FBI and getting into the shit,” Helberg tells Variety. “As an actor, it’s a real dream because I haven’t gotten to...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Poker Face Season 2, Episode 3, “Whack-a-Mole.”] Poker Face seemingly wrapped up Season 1’s big mobster arc in Season 2’s third installment, “Whack-a-Mole,” as Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) was kidnapped by boss Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman). Used by Beatrix to try and sniff out a mole with her human lie detector skills, Charlie tried to uncover who was responsible for leaking details about Beatrix’s attempt to evade capture from authorities. Ultimately, the man responsible was her own loving husband, Jeffrey (Richard Kind), who wanted out of a life on the run. He served as an informant to Luca Clark (Simon Helberg), who promised to help Jeffrey get out of trouble if he turned on Beatrix and her crew. Meanwhile, Luca’s colleague, Daniel Clyde Otis (John Mulaney), was working with Beatrix to supply her with information, unaware that Jeffrey had flipped. When Beatrix attempted a getaway at an airport, Daniel loaded...

The NBC jury has reached a verdict, your honor, and it is bad news for Night Court fans. The reboot of the classic Reinhold Weege sitcom was firmly on the bubble for the network after drawing a more modest audience than its first two seasons under Dan Rubin. In the end, Melissa Rauch will not be returning to the bench as Judge Abby Stone for Season 4, as the series has been cancelled per Deadline. The news comes just days after Season 3 served out the final two episodes of its 18-episode sentence with a bombshell reveal that changed everything for Judge Stone.
Night Court kicked off on a white-hot note when it debuted in 2023. According to Nielsen ratings at the time, the reboot had been NBC's biggest comedy premiere since 2017, only being surpassed by the reboot of Will & Grace. Since then, the series settled into a groove, bringing zany courtroom...

[This story contains spoilers from the three-episode premiere of Poker Face season two.]
Poker Face is back and after watching the first three episodes of season two, you may be wondering if creator-writer-director Rian Johnson just resolved the show’s over-arching hook.
The first season of the murder-mystery-of-the-week show starring writer-director Natasha Lyonne introduced Lyonne’s detective protagonist, Charlie Cale, as a fugitive with an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying, which helps her solve murders that she stumbles upon. As she hit the road in her Plymouth Barracuda trying to outrun the mob boss trying to kill her (played by Ron Perlman) and his henchman (Benjamin Bratt), she solved a new murder mystery each episode. The season functioned in a standalone format, but had an over-arching big bad tying it all together, and the cliffhanger season one finale put new mob boss Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman) on Charlie’s trail.

Spoilers for "Poker Face" season 2 follow.
"Poker Face" is back for season 2 (read our review here), and I couldn't be more delighted. Rian Johnson's wonderful little streaming series is what's called a "howcatchem" rather than a "whodunit": while there's a murder at the center of every episode, these aren't murder mysteries, at least not to the audience. Borrowing a page out of the "Columbo" playbook, each episode tells us who the killer is upfront. From there, it's up to the show's main sleuth, Charlie Cale, to crack the case. Unlike Columbo, Charlie, as played by Natasha Lyonne, isn't a professional detective. However, she does have the uncanny ability to know when someone is lying; she's basically a human lie detector. Because of this gift, Charlie is always able to tell when a killer is bending the truth, and she usually takes it upon herself to save the day...

Now that she has been caught by the mob, how will Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) get out of this one? A star-studded ensemble delivers one of the funniest episodes of Poker Face yet. Yet “Whack-a-Mole” also makes a Rhea Perlman/Natasha Lyonne scene pairing possible for a half dozen sequences. That alone makes “Whack-a-Mole” worth your time. With John Mulaney, Simon Helberg, and Richard Kind on the edge of the episode, there are plenty of laughs and strange bits to elevate this to one of our favorite comedy episodes of the year.

So, Charlie promised to help her get to Miami, where she would be able to put her degree in cosmetology to great use. But Fred couldn’t digest the news of his wife finally deciding to live life on her own terms and killed her while making it look like she skipped town after filming wrapped. Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the eighth and final season of its Emmy-winning animated series Big Mouth, set to premiere globally on May 23, 2025. The trailer teases a fittingly awkward and heartfelt farewell as the Bridgeton teens confront the chaos of high school and the looming uncertainty of adulthood.

To quote Nick Kroll’s Maury, “It’s the end of a very gross era.” “Big Mouth” dropped the trailer for its eighth and final season on Wednesday, and it’s just as upsetting and surprisingly sweet as this raunchy animated comedy has always been. The longest-running scripted Netflix original will premiere on May 23.
“Do you schmucks even know why you go through puberty?” Natasha Lyonne asks as a sassy new teacher. The video then cuts to a series of embarrassing scenes, from Missy (Ayo Edebiri) accidentally farting on another student’s lunch to Jessi (Jessi Klein) panicking about her Pms. But it’s not all humiliating bodily functions. The trailer also shows Lola (Kroll) introducing Matthew (Andrew Rannells) to something called the gay pornscape, a colorful land filled with men happily exploring their various kinks. And this season has a special surprise in store for one of its main...

John Mulaney can’t help but play favorites a bit discussing the different parts of his unorthodox weekly talk show Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney. “I have to say,” he told Rolling Stone via Zoom last week, “there’s no part of the show and there’s no part of the week that’s as exciting as when we first rehearse music.”
“Hardcore music nerd” may not be Mulaney’s most well-known attribute, but his level of music geekery is astonishing. (During a recent talk with Rolling Stone, he...

The return of a major character in Leverage: Redemptiongets a detailed explanation from the star herself. It is in Leverage: Redemption season 3, episode 5, "The Grand Complication Job", that Star Trek alum Jeri Ryan makes her return as the grifter Tara Cole. She's with Sophie Devereaux (Gina Bellman) when she gets abducted by Alexandra Bligh (Lucy Taylor), which is what helps Sophie get rescued in the end. Plot: Poker Face is a mystery-of-the-week series following Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.
Review: While Rian Johnson revived the whodunit on the big screen with Knives Out and the Netflix sequel Glass Onion, his charmingly retro small-screen series Poker Face has truly proven its worth in the tried-and-true genre. Echoing classic shows like Columbo and The Rockford Files, Poker Face‘s first season centered on Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne), who solved mysteries while on the run from gangsters looking to kill her. The overarching narrative of the first season was engaging, but the standalone mysteries boasting famous guest stars turned Poker Face into must-watch programming. After a two-year wait, Poker Face is back with another ten mysteries,...
