- Rolla, the daughter of Count Korláthy sneaks out to the village funfair dressed as a maid. There she meets a young engineer, Baracs, and they fell in love almost instantly.
- This comedy gives us an insight into the cultural life of the 1950s. It takes place in the Vác machine factory, where Gyözö Réz, the leader of the factory workers' choir, who is in fact a "reactionary", shines in his old glory. As a counterpoint, the young, innovative workers appear, who represent a positive direction in music as well.
