Well this was a example of how someone's mental state can go south for many reasons. It's not explicite in the movie but I would speculate that the character who is Maude has a trauma background. Clearly she was over time was over involved with her patient who was palliative and she was hired via an agency apparently. It's not uncommon that religious themes are part of someone losing sense of reality. I think the tipping point was when the patient mocked and shamed Maude who felt humiliated. Stead build in the story to an agreement ncreasing level of odd behaviour and sinister red flags. The intensity built and reached its peak near and at the end.

Historical material I was unaware of, sad, tragic, emotional and a great portrayal of a woman of her time and culture who was basically controlled by her mother. At one point when things were reaching a crescendo she accused her mother of hating woman. Lots of political context that was happening in the 30's Spain. This film got me to explore more about this person and the historical context. Was good to learn more about the people portrayed. The actual Ng was of a high standard. I particularly enjoyed the performance of their housekeeper. Love and passion in the main characters development which her mother saw as losing control. The pace is somewhat slow but this probably says more about me. Would definitely recommend to watch this movie.
