No pun intended - I had no idea what I was watching. Well it was a secret movie screening (sneak preview) so there is that. But even if I had known ... I was not aware of the movie itself. And boy did it catch me by surprise. One of the main characters could totally be a villain/stalker) ... it's a fine line and he plays terrifically - more maybe later on that.

The island (very well photographed and filmed) is quite the location - there doesn't seem much to do there - and not just our main character is surprised he is supposed to play a gig there ... but hey, it's easy money ... right? Well maybe not that easy ... there will be obstacles. Mostly mental ones to be honest. And stuff from the past too.

If you find yourself to shed a tear or two - do not worry! It just means you are human - especially the very talkative character ... when he just is silent and listens ... not happening often ... the best comedic moments come from his naivete ... peanut butter in a cup is amazing ... as is rice for ... well not cooking purposes.

The acting as I mentioned is phenomenal, the script really tight ... even when it seems to be a bit annoying one way or the other ... the movie and the characters (read actors) manage to win you over! A feel good movie - about an artist that doesn't exist - he could and I assume similar stories have happened .. but that doesn't matter as long as the end result is so amazing.

Merrily merrily merrily ... gently down the stream. Or something along those lines - no pun intended and I obviously know the song has different lyrics. Still felt it made sense. Especially considering the constellation here and the relationship the two main characters have. It's not entirely out of the realm of ... things that seem unlikely ... yet they don't seem to be a perfect fit either.

Well we all know where this is going to end up. So it is not so much where we are getting at, but the journey there (be it the boat that floats or other means of (love) transportation) ... the actors do a decent enough job - especially if you are into romantic comedies.

No pun intended - the game makes it clear that it may offend players, but it wanted to stay true to the timeline. To what was going on back then - and yes we are talking about discrimination or rather racism to call it by its name).

All that said, it is a bit much that not even one cop has different feelings towards Lincoln (the main character). Actually you could argue that is by affiliation ... but then, how does the heist inciting incident (big part of the story or what gets it rolling) any sense? In other words: do not overthink it.

Same goes for many repetitive tasks. If you are not out to get achievements or trophies, you may not care for those, which I think may make you enjoy the game more than if you did. Especially because so many years after the game was released (the original one even older) ... and yet it still is riddled with bugs. The biggest one being you not getting a trophy because the game crashes on you.

Now you may get lucky and it does not happen to you ... but I doubt you will be able to do it in 2 playthroughs ... I wish you all the best with that and I mean it. Can be frustrating and I know what I am talking about.

There are quite a few upgrades, but also changes that do not really improve the game from the previous one (Mafia II) ... we will get to see two characters from that movie. One of which you are even able to decide their fate for them ... funny to say the least to have them come back. And a really nice surprise - I liked it.

There are perks to win for people and districts - but you also have to be wary when it comes to the police ... and for the first time here: witnesses ... they can be fun at first, but quite annoying as time passes by. You will get a chance to "block" them with one of the perks - same is true with the police chases ... but again you may have issues with that.

The story is well told, I liked the mechanisms of the fighting or mostly shooting. In the second Mafia game you had your cousin a lot on your side. That was helpful at times - even more so when you played the game on higher difficulty. The thing that you don't have here (trophy/achievement wise): collecting ... that was quite harrowing in the previous game. And a waste of time ... here you can collect stuff, but you don't have to.

Great video sequences that further the story - and the very first big boss ... well the location (theme park) is something to behold on. It almost makes everything that comes after it feel small (though the boat is another highlight for sure).

This could have been so much better - as it is, those playing just for the fun of it, will have the most out of the game - still looking forward to the fourth mafia game coming out this year!

Actually not really - it is however the title of this movie and the book it is based on ... so no pun intended as always. Hot ... stuff maybe? Well I'll go into that a bit later, but I am not sure you could use that term either. I did not know the book before watching the movie (still haven't read it, but am aware of it now obviously). So take what I write with that in mind (especially if you have read it).

What you might know then: the movie will be about a young woman and her mother - and finding her role ... not just in their relationship, but in society ... when should we let go? Continue to roll on with life? And can we move ... on? No pun intended with this either (again not sure how the book ends, but the movie ... well you won't forget that for sure).

So while she is looking for her identity (amongst other things, like her father, her sexuality and so forth) ... she gets to know a German woman ... now there is nudity in this movie. But if this is a make or break thing for you: there is really not much of it here. And I have to say this is one of the things I do not like - when movies do that. The whole holding the sheet as if their life depended on it - than "choreograph" holding hands and arms to cover up ... the upper body. Now I understand there is vulnerability - but for crying out loud: wear a shirt or a bra! There is not even a reason (as in character development or issue) that would warrant that thing that kind of took me out of the movie.

Now as you can tell it wasn't to a degree that I couldn't like the movie. The acting in this is superb (the things above not taken into account) - the pacing might be more of a problem for some people ... and that there does not seem to be a specific goal .. something we work towards ... or walk towards ... how far will it go? Well ... society will judge (and you too ... probably)

No pun intended - I am not sure what or how long Jodie Foster learned for her role, for the character. But if you needed any convincing of how great an actress she is ... well here it is. I remember avoiding the movie, because I reckon the accolades it received sounded way too much ... the rebel in me, didn't want to believe the hype I reckon. Mistake - I should have watched this long ago as it turns out.

But it is not just her ... you have quite a few actors you will recognize - if you are a cinephile that is ... what other reason would you have watching this anyway, if you were not, right? Exactly. A drama that unfolds in so many steps ... and where you will be shocked, relieved and on the edge of your seat ... it also will likely disturb you (for better or worse?)

And also not XXX - at least not the version I watched. Not sure if there is one - if there is, I apologize I reckon. Well you get what I am trying to say. The influence seems quite clear - the shock value is there at times ... but again, while we are expected to understand what is happening ... well Caligula was more in your face. That said, maybe you like this approach better or more.

And while it isn't explicit - the mind always plays tricks on us anyway, so there is that. Just be aware of what you are about to watch ... so you won't feel you've been fooled. I did recognize one male main actor from a different show I watched when I was a kid (more crime thing) ... but he would not have impressed me with this, if I had seen this prior ...

Scream that is. Now where have you heard or read this before? Well I'll give you a hint ... it may alien(ate) you ... ah so many puns. And really not intended - well not from the get go. What you do see in this claymation short on the other hand? Very much intended - and the references to Science Fiction and horror movies are quite clear - for those who are savvy (and well read/watched enough).

This being claymation it also means it can go and do things that might have been way too expensive to pull off - special effects wise. While it isn't real, if you are squeamish the "violence" in it is quite ... well I thought it was entertaining! Again, a movie and meant to do that - also shock of course. Just be prepared - this is not a kids (short) movie.

No pun intended - Scott Eastwood and Sly Stallone? What could go wrong? Add Mike Coulter to the mix ... and he seems to have quite a lot of fun with it. And yet the movie does not seem to be liked that much. And I get it - while the action scenes are well shot, it seems to be missing an essential part: the heart. Metaphorically and otherwise speaking of course.

I am not blaming the actors (though I reckon Stallone who is way more in this than I thought he would be) does seem to phone some stuff in. Well he needs a paycheck too - or maybe it is just trying to be active and work ... out. I don't think enough will watch this, so it "stains" his legacy. He does the most of it - most of the time anyway.

Shame this has enough twists and surprises in the story to work ... but it is what it is I reckon.

... Boyle? Well it would have been Barbara if you know your Romero movie - but as was evident with the very first 28 ... movie this was a different beast. No pun(s) intended - so much so that until this movie (as a reporter pointed out) the word zombie was never uttered. And even here it is not a main character who says it and it is likely an adlib .. as in the spur of the moment and all that.

Now if you are going to watch this thinking it is an action movie, you may be disappointed a bit ... because this is more of a drama. On the other hand, this is quite violent and bloody ... so nothing for the faint of heart either. Just be aware of this and everything is good.

It has been a while since the other movies came out (days and weeks - the titles that is) .. and I was not able to refresh my memory. But since at least another 28 years movie is about to come out (the last scenes of the movie hint at that to say the least, also circling back to the beginning of the movie) ... I will do that before that is released. Or until then - and it seems necessary ... especially because it is suggested that a major character may return ... looking forward to that for sure.

The movie has two halves .. and the first half makes clear why the second is happening. And while you could argue that ... well there could be a "follow" up ... despite rules or whatever ... suspend your disbelief and go with the flow. The movie is also quite grim - especially considering the tone - but also some of its message ... yes it is about death ... very much so. It also about letting go and discovering one self ... family is important ... though the movie raises quite a few questions here.

I think many of the things will make more sense once the sequel to this (in this case a direct one) comes out ... until then ... either wait or go and watch it if you dare.

Actually it is now, but also then ... as in this plays in different time zones, so no pun intended as always. Great actors to start with - which by the way the more movies get made by Marvel (MCU in this case) ... the more the likelihood that some people will cross paths outside their superhero duties.

Goes to show you that those movies, whatever you may think of them (and you don't have to like them), do have some really good actors. I reckon Andrew Garfields Spider Man was not the most liked - that said, I really dug him in it - even if the movies were uneven. But back to this and two actors who have incredible chemistry. Which is really necessary - considering the plot and the highs and lows they have to go through.

I wanted to watch it in cinemas and it would have been deserving. At times (sorry for the pun) it may feel confusing - but stick with it! It gets clear when it is - and what stage in their relationship they ... and the other stage she is in ... well multiple ones.

One life - it is tough to always remember it. To make as much of what we have on this earth. It is not a waste to watch this movie though ...

American Pie this is not - also way too late to ride that wave, no? Well maybe you feel differently. Now I am not blaming the actors too much here. They give it their best shot - at least it feels like it. But take the outtakes during and all the way through to the end of the credits ... they seem nice and all ... until you realize (especially the last clip) ... it is quite weird and aggressive. What I mean by that in terms of the movie: the tone is all over the place.

The movie itself is not overly aggressive .. it is not to my liking (especially the whole peeping and then revenge plots/schemes) ... but hey, maybe you are into that low brow humor (well if you can call it that).

For better or worse (you decide), there is quite a lot of nudity in this. And there is even one sexual encounter that ... well it has a slight comical angle still plays for ... well I'll say excitement. The horny old ladies ... I don't know ... same goes for the ... "viagra" joke ... let's say they go hand in hand .... you'll get it if you decide to watch. Also Mischa has fallen ... I reckon she is not getting any other roles and she has to accept what she is being offered ... I am not mad at her or telling her off _ it's just a shame.

No pun intended - if you have seen any Woody Allen movie, it should come as no surprise that he likes to talk a lot. Yes he also acted a lot in his movies - who else would be able to deliver the script he wrote as good as him? Well he has (I am certain even more so now) ... some neurosis ... amongst other things. But that may have made him a great comedian (writer) ... at least he is quite distinguished to say the least.

Great actors in this, which are needed ... to deliver the dialog. To really get the viewers into the mood - well don't expect nudity or anything. This is more a comedy, in case you were wondering ... which would mean you don't know Allen yet ... no Woody for you (sorry had to)

For those who speak German: Otto Normalverbraucher - for those who don't get it entirely: well it is a word that describes a person that is ... common. That is like everyone else ... now let's be clear: Otto is not that! It is a joke, though as always I will claim that no pun was intended.

If you are German and of a certain age you will know him and most likely cherish him. Times were different ... he was able to make comedy his own. He influenced quite a lot of people - and many of them talk about this. Be it the swearing - well nothing too extreme mind you. But talking sexual too - quite the thing for teenagers to hear and experience as they say in this documentary.

Now as you may guess, not everything he did aged in the best way possible. I am not going to play fun police here (or be woke as some might say), but some may feel offended or at least see some things that are cringe. And while the documentary also touches on some darker sides (who hasn't gotten them? Exactly) - don't expect this to go too deep on those things! This is more a celebration of Otto ... but also the people he ... well "made" ...

No pun intended - I have to admit this was way better than I expected. Not just the songs, though if you care about music ... you'll have a good time no matter what. And the characters do define themselves with music - our main characters breaks the fourth wall a lot .. he also seems quite self aware. You may like this (as humor) or not - but I think it is well done.

Generally speaking: there is a lot to love here. Strange I had not heard of this before. A shame really when a movie that can offer something (again not just music) is being held down or at least not really get any recognition ... what time (zone) is it? Well it's time to boogie ... or dance or whatever music style you dig and like ... do it with this movie.

No pun intended - you may have heard of it. Sometimes if you loathe someone, if it feels like you have strong negative feelings about someone ... well it can go the other direction quite quickly to say the least. And our two main characters here have their ... own meeting. Or whatever you would call their first encounter - possibly one of the highlights of the movie.

It may not be long, but it also does not have to be. The characters feel real - question is if they are interesting enough for most viewers. I doubt it and the rating is a good indicator. That said the actresses are doing a decent job. There is not much more they could have done with the story and the script ... it's simple, but simple (love or not) is not always a bad thing ... right?

No pun intended - maybe I should not compare them - and I actually don't. This is a documentary, but the title made me think of the Tom Hanks movie. So not the documentary or the character itself (or real person in this case).

Human beings can be incredible. We have and do witness the worst in some (ethically and otherwise speaking), but when it comes to those who did not get the best opportunities ... who had injuries, set backs, illnesses ... how do you work around that and how strong is your mind? They say mind over matter - or body in this case.

And you can take that to the bank ... and run with it, if you'll excuse another pun. This really is heartfelt - if you like stories like that ... if you have a place for real stories of incredible human beings (especially those who overcome .. so much) ... well you are about to watch the right movie for you.

No pun intended - I have to admit, considering the decade this was made and the title ... it sounded a bit more .... well "dirty". Now don't get me wrong, I am more than content and happy for this to dig more into the "science fiction" pieces of the story it tells us - instead of going more into the erotic area one might expect (or not, maybe it was just me).

On the other hand there will be some sizzling stuff, not sure if you are satisfied. Just warned you and you make of this what you will. There is enough other stuff to get excited about - suspense and action scenes. Always remember when this was shot and that it was low budget (get your expectations in check) ... and you'll have fun to say the least.

No pun intended - Mel Gibson is back ... well at least movie wise. I am not sure if the limping is or rather was only written or a thing with him now. Would be a shame if he'd be the one too old for that ... stuff - being Lethal Weapon! Come on, we can have one more can't we? Well his political and personal issues aside of course. I do not condone any of that.

And he has quite a lot of fun with the movie. While he is only the mentor, he also seems to be stealing the whole movie. Not sure if his lines were all written like that - but it feels like he did a lot of ad lib ... they really do work.

This is aimed at kids - but has tons of references to older movies ... be it Night of the living dead, Jaws and so many other things ... that teenagers might not really get! Even X-Files is being mentioned/name dropped.

The story and the movie was surprisingly entertaining - not Goonies, but it was still decent overall. It does leave way too much open (like a girl crush who is almost treated like a pawn) .. then you also have the ending ... way too dramatic ... not the Mel Gibson one, that is handled with really good care, but the one before that ... a bit of kitsch if you wanna call it that ... on the other hand I don't entirely get baseball and its rules anyway so there is that - the mother seems to forgiving too ... but again try not to get hung up on the negatives and enjoy the fun you can have ...

No pun intended - I mean it would be crazy to think that in all the universe that exists (and expands), earth is the only planet that has intelligent life on it (and humans - I'm kidding, sort of). So Pixar is taking us on a journey of self discovery ... of trying to find a place (and space - again no pun intended) where one can stick to ... and with.

The feeling of belonging - the feeling of sense, of being needed. Of being someone - to someone at least. We can identify with that - and the young boy has lost a lot. Pixar is not holding back on the drama - but it is needed to give him the weight ... and the drive to search for more ... in life.

And even if you are aware from the start where he will end up - it is as journey worth taking ... with all the surprises and new friends along the way. Very well drawn too by the way ... surely this will at least be nominated next year.

No pun intended - the movie has quite a descriptive title in Germany .. as in you can understand what the movie will be about - something you cannot figure out from the original title to be honest. On the other hand I am not sure I can tell you ... much. Because the movie is quite out there - while actually being inside! Like deep inside ... you'll get it (probably).

Crispin Glover - a name that many connect with Back to the Future ... but a lot of time has passed since then. And he has become quite the household name for weird, independent and mostly horror movies. Now this ticks almost all those boxes ... well kind of all and then some.

It would be moot for me to try to explain what is happening - I assume at least there is social commentary (well there definitely is) ... and pressure, character development ... life goals ... life itself ... we are stuck aren't we? Or maybe you aren't - good for you.

The movie has to be watched multiple times for sure - to fully experience and understand ... something you can't do with life ... well not yet ...

No pun intended - this still is relevant ... I mean it's kind of ... amazing that this documentary existed and he still was able to get elected ... twice. Even more so if you think about what a mess he left after his first term - and the documentary is kind of showing that too ... so many things that you may or may not know (the casino "business" is still unbeatable ... businessman ... well he got a lot of people fooled - so n matter what might think of him, he knows how to play the game ... not for better, definitely for worse).

In the end there are things missing from his presidency I reckon ... and if you really cared, you knew most if not all of it anyway .. not that he has apologized for anything ... this is madness to say the least ...

No pun intended - I generally do not talk much about plot or story - even more so with the movie right here, because it is quite twisted and there are quite a few layers that it does peal off ... slowly. I reckon some of them you can see coming ... but it can be fun to just keep guessing where it will be heading next. And what will ... open up ... get rid of some shackles and all that.

It is well acted - you may even recognize some of the actors ... and yes it may be a bit or think of itself to be too clever. With a thriller and a movie that is build like this one, you will start trying to figure out what is going on - I think it is decent enough ... and fun/entertaining enough ... but if you don't feel a connection in the first 10 minutes ... maybe it's best to switch off.

No queen has nothing to do with this movie - nor Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice! Ok so no pun intended to get this out of the way. This is a low budget action (thriller) movie. With some actors you may recognize - I am surprised Luke Evans needs to do these - but I am not complaining mind you. Just pointing out what is happening or rather what you will be served.

The action scenes are well shot overall - I have seen worse movies too. On the other hand it does feel like it is all over the place. And while it has it's advantages to have many characters - this may have a few too many ... losing focus and all that. But that will be up to you to decide.

Melania does not seem to - no pun intended then - unless she meant it? Well if you do not know what I am on about: Melania wore a shirt that famously had the following on it: I don't care, do you? No I don't remember if there was a punctuation to be honest - but it doesn't matter actually.

For some reason this documentary popped up in my stream list. I could not resist. I would not say that I wasted my time entirely, but I didn't really learn anything new to be honest. Most things I knew (the shirt thing that I mentioned) ... I was not too aware of her interviews .. well the ones that are included here.

I still don't give her much credit (talking of which and no pun intended again) ... like she should have done with Michelle Obamas speech she ripped off ... it was her writers she say ... well they must like her if that is the truth. Anyway ... she made a deal with the devil (or whatever you want to call ... it) ... no sympathy from me. If she still had a soul she would speak out (wedding contracts or not! It's a character/moral thing)

No pun intended - this hits a lot harder nowadays then it might have when it came out ... and that was only 3 years ago. You can make the case for and against the characters. You can ask yourself why there is this treatment (you should ask this actually) ... and you would find yourself very close to what is happening right now. And way worse if you really think about it.

Maybe best not to think too much about it. Overall and while I would not compare myself to any of the two main characters, the struggle is real - and while you may have a different background and may have acted a bit differently in some of the ... let's call them incidents or talks ... there still is so much to get angry and worried about.

Again, if you condone what is happening - and are quick to blame actual human beings ... I am not sure what to tell you. Empathy allegedly is the major difference between us and animals - I am not entirely sure I believe that. I have way too much respect for animals is what I am trying to say.

In Germany the movie is called Borderline ... and there is a way better pun than I could think of ... very well described!
