You could throw this one against the wall and it wouldn't break from all the padding.

Audio that should've have been far clearer.

Lingering unnecessary shots.

Very tacky elements. Do we need to hear little greasy stabbing noises as the individual injuries pop up on a body map? Was there nobody at least 25 years old to go, "ya know what, gross."??

Constant highlighted text from records, meanwhile we hear narration from who knows who because there are no titles to guide the flow.

I'm not a Manson expert or anything but unless any of this a/v is material that's been recently discovered, you can probably do better with another documentary.

Someone repeatedly watched "Rosemary's Baby", then "The Exorcist" and every terrible one of its sequels, and "The Omen" once.

That's the roadmap to this winding, painstakingly slow-burning, 40 minutes longer than it needed to be film.

Long breadth shots and pans that are just so long and unnecessary.

45 minutes into the film, it actually starts.

55 minutes into the film, you're checking how much is left.

Actors were great. It wasn't even a bad story.

Just horribly told with a horrible movie.

This prequel's only value is the split-second picture of Gregory Peck as they tie in this "why?" to the original masterpiece.

First and foremost, you learn very quickly that Stephen Moyer greatly benefited from the distraction of the rest of the show on True Blood. The Academy shan't be calling, Stephen.

The writing is thick and seems hyperbolic for its time on plenty of occasions. Direction is pretty flat, nothing special.

Lead and Baroness roles seem like good actors at least. Supporting cast is mostly pretty good.

One of the greatest disappointments was the under-utilization of a talent like Katey Sagal (especially when time is made for, (I'm sorry?) Ed Sheeran.

It's been a long time since I've had the last moments of a finale come up and was surprised there wasn't one more episode for some epic moment.
