I won't say anything about the jeopardy and suspense side of this film which is thoroughly documented I'm sure in other reviews. But what also stands out for me is how the human stories and relationships are woven into the jeopardy all the way through. The main characters pull this off perfectly. In addition you have a good number of additional roles, every one of which is superbly casted and pulled off, each one adding their own unique character, personality and humour or empathy into the richly varied and interesting mix of personalities. Credit for this must also go to a superb script. Finally the filmography including its choice of engine and train close ups contributes very effectively to pulling the viewer in to the action.
Great for peril, suspense and family values, but credibility is stretched beyond limits when a burning building is not too hot to touch and all its systems stay functioning! But who cares, very entertaining.
