Being a super horror fan I am familiar with Scout Taylor-Compton, one of our scream queens, and have noticed her foray into the traditional western genre lately, which was a selling point for me. Being a film collector, mostly horror, I do also love Westerns, especially spaghetti and traditional ones, and how what a thrill when I find a Horror Western goes without saying.
I got this Blu-ray for my westerns and was not disappointed. Trace Atkins did a good job of creating a traditional atmosphere and storyline and the cast was both competent and engaging. Scout did a great job as did Start. It satisfied all the requirements for a western to me, was a decent runtime at over 93 mins and delivered some decent action and dramatic flow.
Nice entry in the genre, and although it's actually a 7.2 out of 10, I gave it an 8 to compensate for the trolls and bombers who infest IMDB and seem to live for NOTHING but bombing films for nothing but personal satisfaction it seems (Get another hobby folks because watching films isn't satisfying you at all..lol)
Worth-A-Buy for sure for western fans.

LMAO is how it must begin. Reading the comments on this is such a "typical troll fest" regarding anything to do with films that play with alternate takes on real life events.
The 2 Amityville films this director did are the only 2 after the original 3 that are any good. Haunting Of Sharon Tate is a brilliant alternate, and quite satisfying, "if only this were the true way things went that night." Films like Aileen Warnos American Psycho is another delicious slice of "what If".
People just hate their "Special pearl clutching opinions and perspectives" touched. Disrespectful this and Trash that". You know how you can tell they're mostly weightless mob bombs? Because out of the 95ish RANTS on this film only about 8 are about the film itself...LOL. The rest are just pearl clutching screams about "how dare you". Well with the drivel the Hollywood mainstream produces these days I yell YES, YES, I DARE YOU, PLEASE. Please give us something different and new, and I love these real life event alternate takes as the ENTERTAINMENT films are suppose to be. So enjoy your pearls, just try not to strange yourselves with them, now Imma pull out my Blu-ray of this and remind myself how much silly fun reading these mob rants are LOL.
It's really a 6.8/10 (too short of a runtime for me) but I gave it an 8 just to spite you all LMAO.

If IMDB is good for one thing it's to laugh at the arm chair critics and trolls. I saw this on Ham Books website and picked it up during an order, being from the area it's set in, didn't recognize anyone except Michael Paré in the cast but found the pitch interesting enough to buy. I was pleasantly surprised, I'm not too stuck up when it comes to b-movies and indies and love giving them a chance.
The cast did well, I found no problem in the acting 98% of the time. And only then maybe 1 or 2 few seconds from an extra here and there, the actual cast did fine. Story wise it kept my interest and entertained. The makeup effects for the mutant was pretty good and the kills were nicely done. The practical effects were fine and It all kept my attention. This score is has on here the typical pearl clutching over reacting silly "horror haters: on expects and you should give it it's due worth, which as usual is near none LOL. If you like horror and mind GOOD low budget with an overall good effort in general. You can safely pick it up. As a film collector I'm approaching the big 3K films and I'm perfectly ok with having this one in the collection.
