Archetypes is a podcast series hosted by Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, who claims to examine and subvert the labels that seek to limit women. However, the podcast is nothing but a self-indulgent and superficial attempt to boost her own image and relevance by associating herself with celebrities, historians and experts who have little to do with the topics she pretends to care about.
The podcast is full of clichés, platitudes and contradictions. Meghan talks about breaking stereotypes, but she reinforces them by choosing guests who fit into neat categories of race, class and profession. She talks about empowering women, but she patronizes them by speaking on their behalf and ignoring their diverse experiences and perspectives. She talks about being authentic, but she comes across as fake and scripted, using a fake British accent and dropping names of famous people she knows.
The podcast is also poorly produced and edited. The sound quality is inconsistent, the music is annoying and the editing is choppy. The episodes are too long and boring, with Meghan dominating the conversation and interrupting her guests. The episodes are also repetitive and predictable, with Meghan asking the same questions and making the same points over and over again.
Archetypes is a podcast series that fails to deliver on its promise of exploring the history and culture of stereotypes that affect women. It is a waste of time and money for anyone who expects to learn something new or meaningful from it. It is a vanity project for Meghan Markle, who uses it as a platform to promote herself and her agenda. It is a disappointment for anyone who respects women and their stories.

I finally got to sit down and watch K-PAX and I can honestly say that I wished I had seen it before. I would rate this as on of my top 10 films, it is very well written, acted by Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges and everyone in the movie. It's a refreshing change to see a well written and directed film which doesn't preach to you and makes you use your mind, you feel for all of the characters and at the end makes you think!
After seeing so much of the trash Hollywood has had to offer over the last 7-8 years, I would recommend switching off all distractions, sitting down with an open mind and glass of wine!

Get a move on! Nothing says emergency like standing about talking about feelings when every second counts! Just get with the job in hand and then have a debrief and talk about your feelings once the universe has been saved for the umpteenth time!
