PC aside, was the tasteful but noticeable boob job on Perdita Weeks her own initiative or something suggested by the new production on NBC?

Very glad it was picked up by NBC after looking forward to it every Friday night on CBS. Not the deepest show but fun to watch.

I have come not to expect or demand accuracy with representation to military personnel or dress on network tv or even movies, but the S5E2 gaff referring to the Purple Heart as the highest award a veteran can get is so egregious that you have to question why they haven't bothered to have a military advisor on staff. The Congressional Medal of Honor is the highest award and there are probably another dozen medals that rank above the Purple Heart for displaying on the uniform. Appreciate they continued the tie to the Navy from the original show but please do a little bit extra work and get things right.

Still a good watch, look forward to each episode.

I'll continue to watch it all the way through the last couple of episodes. I've hoped it would become a better historical drama than soap drama, but not yet. Some of it is based on historical fact, such as actually launching a man into space, a lot is just made up. You wonder if it's not just a reflection of the current climate of bashing anything that has been accomplished in the country.

I'm not overly sensitive to representations of military personnel, but the uniform appearance of the female nurse lieutenant is glaringly wrong. Her rank and branch insignias are on the wrong lapels, that is her lieutenant bar belongs on her right collar not her left collar as she always wears it, and the medical service insignia should be on her left collar. Further, both are oriented vertically and they both should be horizontal, parallel to the bottom of the collar and one inch above.

It would not have taken much research at all to get this right, but this is another example of caring little for accuracy in this soap drama.

Disappointing all around.

Would love to see a "Prequel", reprising Margo Martindale and bringing to life the mother of the sisters to see how the town and the brothel business evolved.

There is some intentional twisting and obfuscation which seems to have been confused with clever story development.

in credits the actors listed second and third in order of appearance are not actually seen as second and third, but must be the ones traveling in a distant car. They are important characters in the development of the story but don't actually make much of an appearance. Their second scene is in which the man tackles the girl while both are running across a snow field. They aren't identified but if you go back through the movie or watch it a second time you fill in the details if you are that curious. It takes too much work and effort for the casual viewer.

The ending also leaves in the air some undefined events and opens the gate for a sequel, which I wouldn't mind seeing, although as mentioned would like to see a prequel so as to be able to bring back Margo Martindale.

The final production is ambiguous rather than clever, enough so to make the whole viewing experience annoying. But I'd like to see another episode, either prequel or sequel.
