What I really appreciate about this mini series is the delicate cinematography. There are moments where the scene is so realistic and intimate, intense, that you almost feel like watching someone else's private life, but not in an uncomfortable way. The drama is realistic and very relatable, never over the top with the comedy/tragedy and without the usual clichés of a kdrama. This is a show you must pay attention to, not the kind you can have keep going on tv whilst making popcorn. The details are important, we have a delicate approach to themes like timing, couple's different points of view and goals, priorities and all those little things usually seen like ridiculous in movies but actually of impact in real life. This is fun, yes, but also very touching; it makes you think about how fragile love, people and relationships are in general, in both good and bad context. The harmony between funny and serious moments is good, and the interview format makes it unique, it allows us to know how the characters are feeling, the frustration, anger, joy. The acting was strong, almost impressive in some scenes. I was a bit disappointed about the ending, at first I didn't understand why ep 17 was so fast paced and all, but I realized soon the symbolism of this chioce. I know people will complain about it for various reasons but I appreciate the realism in it.

Every aspect of this little masterpiece is really great. For those who love realistic stories without the typical kdrama cliché, this is a must. The script is amazing, but the cast was even better. Both of the lead actors were insanely good, you can't forget them after this performance. The lead actor in particular, was something out of this world. The role he portrayed was difficult, unique. Very skilled actor.
It's a shame this drama is so underrated.
I've watched this drama a long time ago, and even after all this time there's something about The K2 that just simply remains in the air. What makes this drama taste different is the complex relationship between the hero, lead actor Ji Chang Wook, and the antihero Song Yun-ah. Unexpected. And their acting skills. Superb.
Scenography, storyline and cast are ok most of the time, and impressive on a few occasions, the action scenes seriously well done (lead actor is impressive in combat skills and stunts) and the plot really captivating.
The antagonists in this drama are interesting and well portrayed, but the real magic happens when the hero K2 and Madame Choi take the scene.
As actors, they excelled. On their own and together. The evolution of their relationship in the drama is unexpected, hard to understand at first, atypical.
The character of Madame Choi is something you won't forget easily... If you really understand what's going on. One of the most brilliant antihero out there. Worth watching.
