Avis à la une
If you're looking for a non conventional sci fi movie you must watch this!
Let the slow walks and deep thoughts of the main carachter guide you into this reality, maybe, not so far.
I really appreciated this great little film, which exudes a passion for genre cinema and science fiction literature. We are used to super hero protagonists catapulted into various apocalypses ready to sacrifice themselves for the next while here we have a completely apathetic protagonist who seems not even aware of the tragedy that surrounds him because he is too busy clinging to his everyday life, which has completely disintegrated (practically the real everyday life of most human beings). Each character has its own story. Each character moves through this condominium-world trying to survive as best he can. Today it takes courage for independent directors to invest everything in this kind of film, and I think it's right and right to support it despite its flaws.
A film made by people who love cinema and who make their passion manifest in every frame. The editing succeeds in making linear a story that at first glance is very complex; the lead actor brings up all the pain that afflicts his character, literally "shut down" by an imposed routine that he uses as a mean to survive; the director makes the most of nature, combining it with a wild and decadent urban landscape (the outskirts of Catanzaro), the perfect theater of a post-apocalyptic science fiction entirely based on human beings and on the way in which they are afflicted by what surrounds them. Also noteworthy is the soundtrack, full of electronic sounds, perfect for the atmosphere of the film.
Matteo Scarfò manages to translate James Ballard's universe into images thanks to refined scenographies, an excellent cast of actors and a direction that delves into the psyche of characters. One of the few examples of Italian underground sci-fi cinema.
I do recomend this little masterpiece by the talented italian director Matteo Scarfò.
The storytelling, sweetly slow, melanchonic and "true" when it speaks about the absence of human feelings, will take you into the deepness of the Ballard's thought.
It is supported by a stunning soundtrack and the lead actor, Andrea Lupia, is the perfect person to communicate all the ideas of this work, with his recitation intense and strong.
A great work!
